I put 3 stars cuz I usually LOVE this place... but yesterday I got food and it seemed like there was barely any liking y to... cooking the food... It was uncut, large whole onions in the chicken chow mein, all veggies uncooked, the broccoli in thegeneral tso was all stems.... the lo main was bland and I was seriously disappointed after spending $$75. I will try again, butI sure hope they get a new cook or let the one they have now get some sleep..... Read more

Coming from Boston and a frequent eater of these Chinese restaurants, the China House was "average" at best and overpriced.... Quality of the food tasted a bit old, quite common being on an island and most of the products didn't taste fresh. Yet, the endbill came out close to the same as a high quality restaurant. I would put this on an emergency list if you really want Chinesefood. But, overall, overpriced with poor quality food. The clerk in the front was fast and friendly. Takeout only. Read more
Ordered lemon chicken, it was not pieces of chicken, it was like strings of chicken in this weird batter. Very dissatisfied.... Some pieced were all batter. Tossed it out. Would not recommend this place. Walked 9 blocks not going back. White rice ok Read more
Best Chinese food on the island, they are fast and the food is very tasty. My son loves there loin mein and sesame chicken
My family has been coming to this restaurant for take out and eat-in dining every summer for nearly a decade. The service is... great? warm and friendly. And the food is delicious. This is a no frills place that caters to diners who want to eat great foodwithout all the pomp. Read more
I hate to say anything poorly of a Chinese restaurant (they are usually all wonderful), but I've gotten meals for this place on... two occasions (I always give a second chance in case the cook was having a bad day) and both were subpar based on any otherChinese food I've ever eaten. I'd have to give the food a 5 out of 10. If it was good I would have had it everyday for the weekI was in town, but couldn't bring myself to do more than twice. Read more
