9/22/2022 7:15pm Tonight was the third time we visited LA Pesca and in stark contrast to the 2 previous visits, this was a... disaster. After being seated and giving our order, we waited for our food..... 42 minutes and finally it arrives. My wife'ssteak and fried shrimp and my grilled fish and shrimp. My wife's French fries were pale white and cold along with her 6 shrimpwhich were also cold. She tried her steak and could only tolerate one bite. It was luke warm and dry as a bone. My shrimp (3medium sized) were very good and the grilled fish was well seasoned and not dry. Unfortunately the size of the fish was almosttransparently thick and not filling at all. I also sampled the "steak" and found it throughly revolting. It had obviously beenleft in the warming tray or under a heat lamp for most of those 42 minutes and would have made any shoe maker proud to use it toresole boots. Even the wait staff was overwhelmed and could not provide its usual good service. Oh well..... there's always LongJohns Silver and Cap'n D's. Very, very disappointed. First visit to La Pesca. My Wife and I think that the Oyster Bar inHarlingen was our go to place for seafood in the RGV but our evaluation has changed since eating here tonight at La Pesca. Ihave to admit that the exterior left a little bit to be desired but the food fars out weighs the looks. It was some of the bestseafood at reasonable prices that I have had in 79 years of tasting it around the world. The service was impeccable and theCorona was the perfect temp. We throughly enjoyed our dining experience here at La Pesca and will be frequent guests here fromnow on. Try them out.... You won't be disappointed. Read more

Good food but a little pricey. Ordered 3 items and paid over 70 dollars
Worst experience. Server got drink order wrong, and after I corrected her she continued staring at me the entire time. I am from... out of town and All I wanted was to have a good last dinner with my family. Food was not very fresh. My dad ordered oysters andcould not even finish them because he was disgusted. I don?t know how this place has 4 stars. After being informed they were outof chicken after ordering it, the server stared at my brother in law while he asked to look at the menu until he was pressuredto get the fajita that she kept suggesting. 0/10 recommend. This is a Mexican seafood restaurant. We had the fish tacos and shrimp tacos. Super delicious. They serve a free, small glass of... shrimp soup which is very tasty. Also free tostada chips. Atmosphere is a little dank, kind of like a hole in the wall. Very lowkey. Service is just ok. We would come back. Read more
My family and I give it 4 stars. The staff was friendly and accommodating. We got seated right away and our drinks order was... taken right away. The sweet tea wasn't good. Tastes just like the powdered mix you buy in the tub/container. Would be betterfresh brewed. The food was good. I ordered the fajitas and everything tasted great. A dash of salt and I was happy with theflavor. The salad I didn't care for. The tortillas were okay but definitely hot. They should have given more. 3 tortillasfor a fajita plate was not close enough to enough. The bell pepper and onions were delicious with the fajitas. My daughtersordered the kids chicken nuggets and fish sticks with fries. They give plenty of food for each order. The fish sticks weremoist and had good taste. The fries were crispy. My daughter liked the chicken nuggets. Not the greatest for her but she saysshe enjoyed them. My wife had the octopus and oyster cocktail. She thought the portion/glass was small but was extremely good. She also had the tostada de ceviche. She loved the tostada as well. Plentiful on top but wished it would come with at least 2tostadas instead of 1. My wife's grandmother had the "Siete Mares" and she enjoyed it as well. She usually goes every so oftenand gets that every time. Other than the food, the environment was a little lacking. Our epoxy coating on our table wascracked and chipped and we had to be careful not to put our drinks on the crack or it'd tip over. That's something that shouldbe fixed right away. I tried to use the bathroom but it seemed like somebody was doing something in there like working. Iheard clinking and banging but the door was locked and nobody answered when there was a knock. Also, I feel like the place canbe "spruced" up a bit. A fresh coat of paint, small things fixed and straighten up, and maybe a little more decor or betterdecor. Other than that, it wasn't bad. My wife and i love the Steak and Shrimp plate, the service is great. Strongly recommend to my friends and family.
