Had a takeaway meal of soup, dumplings and noodles as recommended by the staff. It's all rather unsatisfactory and light years... away from authentic Shanghai cuisine. It's perhaps toned down to the local palate but none of the three dishes were anythingthat one would describe as fresh, flavourful or truly spicy. No complaints about the quality of the ingredients but authenticit's not. To be fair to Wu's, I have yet to find anything authentic and tasty within 5 miles of Exit 9. The search continues... Take out! Love this place. We got the vegetable steam buns, pork wontons in a spicy peanut sauce and pork steam juicy buns... which is their signature. All I can tell you is that there is no better place in central Jersey to get these. I highlyrecommend this place. THE BEST soup dumplings anywhere in the US. Loooong wait times and lines (pre pandemic!!!) and slightly over the average... prices. I have tried soup dumplings all over the US and I believe this place has better soup dumplings than even the veryfamous dumpling houses of NYC. 3 dishes that you don't want to miss are pork soup dumplings, crab meat dumplings and meat andvegetable wontons in spicy source. Wow this place was phenomenal. The pork soup dumplings are as good as everyone says. The skin is thin but doesn’t break even... after traveling an hour with them. And the pork was perfectly juicy. also ordered salted duck, chicken in wine sauce, sweetsoybean milk, and rice cake with preserves cabbage and shredded pork. The salted duck is a must try. The chicken was veryauthentic and The rice cakes had great texture. I loved everything I had there and would definitely go back for more! Read more
Amazing, delicious dumplings!! Got the recommendation from several local residents, so figured they must be good. Soup dumplings... were excellent! We got them to go and ate them as soon as we could. The Shanghai pan fried dumplings were excellent, superfluffy and filling. The shumai with rice were also very large! Loved all the dumpling items. We also got the beef rolls with aflaky, crispy shell, and pan fried udon noodles. Those were good as well, but definitely stock up on any and all of thedumplings. Can’t wait to order more! Read more
I don’t think I’ve had better soup dumplings in my life! I don’t think lll ever have to go to NYC for my dumpling fix ever... again. The pork soup dumplings were super flavorful and the broth inside was incredibly deep and sweet with immenseporkiness. The crab and pork dumpling was a totally different experience but also astonishingly delightful with even sweeterand ocean-y crab notes in the broth and a more flaky/tender mouth feel from the crab meat. The pan fried buns were prettystandard in my opinion. The sesame noodles are literally unreal I’ve ordered sesame noodles EVERYWHERE and Wu’s Shanghaihas found a way to elevate this dish and add complexity to it while keeping it affordable! The sauce is immaculate and nuttywith deep soy flavor and sweetness with garlic. I absolutely loved it I cannot stress that enough. The noodle soups are okay Iwouldn’t focus on those when going here. Overall this is an excellent standout spot. It’s take out only but this placedefinitely has earned that status. Read more
