Such great food. Portions are crazy as well. Such a cool spot to eat at here in Edisto.
We had the worst meal ever here at McConkey's just now. I ordered a BLT, the bacon had an awful taste to it. My husband got a... burger and I was tasteless. Our chips were burnt. Our kids ate very little as well. The waitress did not seem concerned that wedidn't eat our food nor did anyone see what the problem was or try to fix it. Went twice in one afternoon. First for a cocktail and then later for dinner. It definitely isn't a fancy place, but... pleasant. I had the blackened fish tacos while my husband had the same fish in a cobb salad. Both extremely yummy. However, my husband's drink was way too strong and he didn't finish it. Read more
The food was good but not excellent. I had what was supposed to be the best burger on the island but I have eaten many burgers... that are better than the one from McConkey's. On the plus side the chili on the burger really good. My son had the shtimp basketand said it was nothing special. The cocktails were uninspired. My wife had the fish tacos and enjoyed them. Other customersthat entered after us were served before us. This place is tiny and seating is very crowded. The artwork on the tables by localartists is kind of neat if you like that sort of thing. When we return to Edisto, McConkey's is not on our short list of placesto eat. Read more
My whole family enjoyed this small beach restaurant. I was able to find a gluten-free burger here and when I ordered the bun... they made sure to ask if I had an allergy. Very considerate. My burger was delicious and my family also ordered wings, friedflounder sandwich and a cheese quesadilla. Server was super friendly and even offered some advice on what to do while we were intown. Great little restaurant. We were here on New Years Day and were worried there may be a wait. We had 7 people in our party and... they were able to seat us immediately. They had a lot of seating options for small and large parties and indoor and outdoorseating. The service was great. We were greeted immediately and our server was on top of it the whole time. The food was alsogood. Some dishes I thought were a little pricey, but there was something for everyone. Overall it was a great experience! Read more
Giving a 2 star simply because we didn?t even get to order food to be able to rate the food. We got seated at 6:30 and the place... was pretty empty. One table was finishing up the tab empty. My wife and I chose be seated outside on such a nice night. Thehostess give us our menu and we waited for about 10 minutes for someone to take our drink order. No one ever came to getit. After about 15 minutes 2 gentlemen came in they got seated. We watched them get the menus and even get there drinks and thewaitress took there orders. We still hadn?t been waited on for drinks yet. Now I understand the staffing problems going on atthis time but when we are the only ones in the restaurant this is not the issue. I stood up told them thank you but since wecan?t be waited on enjoy your night and we proceeded to leave to which the waitress replied sorry I?m the only one working weare short staffed to which I would understand if it was busy but unfortunately it was not busy.
