Italian comfort food at it?s finest. These calzones are absolutely delicious. Choose to dine-in and enjoy the environment. It?s... a very mom and pop style kind of hole in the wall with piano guts to admire. Neat. Calzone comes on tray with marinara dip. TheNutella calzone is a real treat, if you have room in your tummy that is. High flavour profile and excellent customer service allaround. Payments accepted: cash and e-transfer only. Weird hours. Saturday and Sunday 10-6. Highly recommended. Read more

We stopped at Battista's an hour before close time on a Sunday, after a long day exhibiting at the Expo Centre in Edmonton, just... before getting on the road home to Calgary. It was an absolute delight to try Battista's Chicken Pesto Calzone, freshly preparedand warm straight from the oven. Very satisfying and tasteful! Great customer service! Brought 4 additional calzone to freezeback at home, but could not resist them! By the following Tuesday they were gone! We know now where to stop next time we are inEdmonton! Read more

SO GOOD! Not only were the calzones delicous, but the service was top notch. I am guessing it was the owner, was so nice and... sweet with our 1 yr old. Gave her stickers, and let her "strum" the piano in the shop. Could really tell they use great qualitymeats and cheeses. Delicious Marinara, its all the little one wanted to eat! Will absolutely be returning. Read more

Nice tasty calzone. The place is only open weekends and then only till 6 pm. No drinks available, no cutlery, your calzone is... served on a sheet of waxed paper. It's all about the calzone. Read more

Came here after rave reviews from others. It was alright. The owner is really nice. At the time we went, the kitchen looked... overstaffed, but we still waited quite a long time to receive our food. The calzones themselves weren?t too bad Read more

Truly special. Our family came for a quick bite, and we are all very happy. Service: Warm and friendly staff. Employees seemed... at-ease and relaxed around the owner, which is a very good sign. Owner was very gracious, and took time to explain hisproduct. Crust: the calzone crust is perfect blend of crusty, chewy, and is well-seasoned. It's baked with attention andlove. Fillings: I tried the Aloha and Spicy Italian, and both hit the right notes: smokey BBQ sauce and fresh ham paired withpineapple. It's a comforting but elevated take on a classic. The sausage used in the Spicy Italian is billed as local, and theproof was in the tasting: fresh and savoury. I liked the spice blend in it too, and the ratio of peppers. The owner very kindlymade us a dessert Calzone, with Nutella filling and a dessert-ish dough (almost like a crepe!) for my family to share. It was asplendid gesture, and rest assured, we are all coming back! Minor criticism: No pop. It seems like pure profit for the owner tohave a few boxes of popular pops on-hand, and sell them for $2/can to a thirsty public. But it's not a deal-breaker, andcertainly not enough to make this a 4/5 -- this place is way too close to perfect for that. Support 118 ave. The best eats inthe city. Read more
