The London Fog cake is very delicious and it is not too sweet. Coffee is on the average. Atmosphere is great.
Stopped here for lunch and a coffee. The grilled caprese sandwich was quite large and also came with a bowl of soup which was... nice. The only complaint I would have is that the mozzarella in the sandwich didn?t completely melt even when warmed up. I alsoordered the Vietnamese coffee which tasted pretty authentic, however more expensive than a Vietnamese restaurant. The ambienceis quite enjoyable here, but can get a bit loud on weekends. Spent around $25 before tip which is pricier than other cafes onWhyte Ave. Edit: I wrote my original review when I was still sitting in the cafe. When I went to leave, I cleared up my dishesand began putting my garbage in the garbage can when an employee behind the counter loudly yelled at me to just put my dishes inthe dirty dish area. I felt embarrassed since I was just trying to clean up to be polite to the employees and didn?t need to beyelled at from a distance. She also addressed me as ?miss? which I understand is supposed to be a polite expression, but hertone to me was not polite at all. Not a great ending to my experience and I won?t be coming back now. Came here for dessert on our 8th wedding anniversary. I used to come here all the time when craving hot chocolate. Sad to... discover during my most recent visit that they changed the recipe for their dark chocolate hot chocolate at some point. It wasthe best in the city, I'm sad to see it gone! I am giving Block 1912 Cafe the followingratings: - deserts 8/10 Good quality, but small size for the price - price 3/10 I think it's way to overpriced to pay for aslice of cake $9 bucks. - setting 10/10 Great environment. Love the design. Pleasure to spend time inside - location10/10 Great location in trendy neighborhood -washrooms 1/10 I think washrooms should be cleaned more often I gave overallrating of 4 out of 5 mainly because the of the setting and quality of food. The cafe is spacious and has a rustic feel to it. The service was quick and the barista skills were impeccable. We had the... Cappuccino and Americano with the Rhubarb scone. The drinks were on point and were perfect for cool Autumn morning. The sconewas a pass though. The price point for the bakery items are a bit on the higher side.
