We loved how accommodating this establishment is. My wife had her 40th birthday there and everyone had a great time. The owner... and staff were steller. Would totally recommend holding your event there. More then enough room to keep it intimate or mix it upwith the bar scene. Read more
I came here a few times. First time I had their brunch and order fried chicken benedict. Then, the wings (they were half off... Wednesday), they were soo good. I also tried the burger and wasn't a huge fan. I will definitely be back. Read more
I just stopped in for a quick caesar (ended up ordering 2!) and it was delicious! The bartender welcomed me the second I walked... in and continued to check-in on me. I'd definitely come back for their caesars and I'd love to ty out some of the items on theirmenu. Great service with a warm and welcoming atmosphere! Read more
On Business trip to Edmonton. My last night, decided to try a local bar. Central Social Hall is a bar we don't have in... Vancouver. Place is huge! Nice decor and good size bar. I tried the steak and potatoes bites and it was great. Also ordered theLondon cocktail drink. It was OK. Came in a tall glass. Tried the back porch bourbon Peach tree, in a short glass. That wasgood. Love the rosemary taste touch. Also ordered Crown and 7. Can't ever go wrong with Crown Royal. Overall, great place.Ryan my bartender was amazing as well as the waitresses. Food is average, nothing spectacular but not awful. We had the Ronald burger and Buffalo chicken bowl. Service is mediocre at... best, the waitresses seemed unmotivated to work there as they spoke very few words. It wasn’t nice that they had their fingersin the dish as they brought it to our table. Visiting Edmonton on business and this was close to my accommodation so decided to try it despite some of the more recent... reviews. Unfortunately, the reviews were mostly accurate. I understand the struggles that businesses are experiencing these dayswith finding reliable staff, and I am a patient person, however, this was not a good experience. The only reason I gave it 3stars was because the ginger chicken bowl tasted good and came out in a timely manner. To start the experience, the restaurantwas occupied with 4 other parties (1 table of 4, all the rest 2). Ice water was delivered about 5 minutes after arrival and theserver asked what we wanted to eat. No drink order and no menu or QR code available?? The server barely spoke 10 words to us,seemed to be avoiding being a server at all. Possibly was his first night on the job? Drinks were ordered and arrived but norefills ever offered until we caught him briskly passing us avoiding eye contact. Ordered steak & potatoes & the above. Theserver asked if the "steak was alright medium rare" (5 words) like it was our only option and when it came out, it was well doneand literally just steak and potatoes in a small pan, zero presentation. We literally felt like we were animals being fed as thesimple dishes were slid in front of us sheepishly and the server walked away without saying a word! For the cost of eating outthese days, I would think restaurants would do a little quality control and mentor the staff appropriately to be great, dynamicservers. Well this place has really gone downhill. I went on a Monday and maybe 3 other tables had been seated already. 1)A waitress... comes up to us after 15 minutes and asks if we are ready to order but we hadn't even been greeted or got a menu/qr code yet. Ouractual waitress comes shortly after and we are greeted normally and I thought they just had a moment, everything should bebetter now. 2) the food was so basic and mediocre.... I could have made this chicken buffalo bowl(substituted for tofu) at homeand it would have had more flavour. The chicken on my friends pasta looked off and not fresh/good chicken. When you're paying$20 and up for a dish and competing with earls and cactus club, I would expect better than this. It just felt like none of thestaff cared. 3) being harassed by fruit flies the entire service. I worked in the serving industry.. that only happens if youaren't taking out the trash or cleaning your bar properly. And who wants to eat with a fly swarming around the entire time. 4)the waitress took our plates afterwards and asked us if we wanted our bill. We said yes and she left.... 10-15 minutes later shecomes back and asks us AGAIN if we want our bill. Keep in mind the restaurant was dead... No I'm not high maintenance, but whenyou go out to a restaurant the staff are giving you a "service" and I respect servers for having to deal with people cause I'vedone it. It just felt like no one cares about doing their job and did it to the minimum. I don't know if the food is normallybetter but I will never be going back to eat and central again. Read more
Was there for a Chef's Table dining experience. We were greeted and taken to a table near the back of the restaurant. It was... set up beautifully, including a customized menu for us (with our photo and all). The tasting menu included enough food that wewere full by the end of the meal. Michael, our dedicated host for the evening, was warm, welcoming and demonstrated greatexpertise with the food and cocktails being served. This was an amazing experience, certainly worth doing!
