I love Japonais Bistro! The food is always great! On Tuesday they have $1 salmon sashimi which was awesome! It was busy the last... time I was in so service was a bit slow initially but it improved and was overall good. A fun little perk is the heated toiletseats in the ladies bathrooms! Read more

We had a nice dinner here last month. We haven't been back for a long time (almost 8 years). It's nice to see the signature... dishes are on the menu. The udon noodles was too salty but everything else was very good. Note: Parking is limited in thefront. Read more

Japonais Bistro is good but inconsistent. Sometimes they are exquisite and other times, they are subpar (mid at best). Size... portions and freshness of their food is always different each time that I go. I have been going here for the past 6 years. Theytruly used to be my favourite sushi restaurant but with how inconsistent they are, I find myself going other places instead.Albeit, I still go as this place holds great sentimental value to me. The truffle fry is superb though! Read more

This place is absolutely incredible. The quality is one of the highest I’ve ever seen at a Japanese restaurant. They actually... have real wasabi too! Not just the green horseradish lol. We ordered the waygu hot stone and it just melts in your mouth. Theservice was fast, friendly and the food was a 10/10. I can’t wait to come back and try more off their menu! Read more

The best quality at a good price, the service is great and the food is the reason I keep coming back. They provide the best... lunch bentos at a good price that won't break the bank. A must go if you have a special some one to take and enjoy high qualityfish. Read more

My mom had never been to Japonais Bistro before, so I decided to take her here for lunch today. We both ordered the "Make your... own Bento." Although the food preparation took longer than expected, we were happy with our meals when they did arrive. (Theserver explained there was a delay due to a takeout order.) There was a decent selection of items for each box in the bento andthe portions were fairly large - I even had some leftovers for dinner. If you want the best bang for your buck, the "Make yourown" is an excellent choice for lunch. Read more

Overall I would definitely come back to this restaurant. While on the higher price for sushi, their high quality dishes deserve... the extra penny and everything was very delicious The staff are friendly, service is quick, and the atmosphere is nice despitethe restaurant still having to abide by covid seating and code (slightly effects the ambiance and atmosphere) I woulddefinitely order the lobster udon again and share it with another person (as it is quite large and very rich). Overall one ofthe best Japanese restaurants you will find in Edmonton Read more

Japonais Bistro was a pretty good experience! The robata bento was good, loved all the grilled food on it, my only complaint is... that I was hoping for more food for the price I was paying for. The assorted chef’s choice sashimi plates was my favouritedish that I ate! The fish tasted fresh, and it was also a unique experience because I never had octopus and squid sashimi! Finally for dessert, the matcha creme brulee was the perfect way to end of the meal, it was sweet, but not too overpowering! Mycomplaint about the matcha creme brulee is I also wished for more for the price I was paying for. All in all, I think I’d comeback to Japonais Bistro for sure! Read more
