Had the ROAD TRIP tasting menu and dang- that was a trip!! 6 courses, all delicious and unique. The meal was enough to fill us... to the top. I appreciated the use of local and seasonal ingredients - morel mushrooms and fiddleheads, free range boar (forgotto take a pic of the main cause we tucked in with excitement!) and toasted barley. Always a brilliant dining experience at Rge Rd. High quality ingredients, innovative creations and such a beautiful space (warm... dining room and a lively bar side area). It's a farm to table concept and everything is so well done. The team at therestaurant were also fabulous in working with us to support my partner's dietary restrictions. The only small comment I have ison this night I found the service to be a bit stuffy/forced - too business like. I am seeing modern dining experiences are notso formal anymore in service delivery based on our experiences of top restaurants in North America. It's usually more relaxed,conversational and, dare I say, genuine or even fun. But that may be the brand here. Nevertheless, it doesn't take away from asuperb experience. It's no wonder you can rarely find a seat here on short notice. Five stars! Read more
Great food, absolutely atrocious sevice. We informed the server at the beginning that we would split our bill individually which... she said was fine. After finishing our meal we were informed that was not possible and spent the next 20 mins doing the math forthem, as apparently this was now impossible. Normally we would just pay an equal portion (as they quite condescendinglysuggested we do..) however only some of us ordered several drinks on the understanding that their modern restaurant softwarewould be capable of a simple bill split. Additionally our waitress was quite rude. In the end, after we sorted out the amounts,they came back with a split bill which was apparently possible all along. As much as I love the food I would never return. Good,expensive food should be commensurate with good service and this was woefully lacking. Read more
Amazing food and amazing service. Our waitor was very helpful in understanding what they were offering that night. Celebrated a... birthday there and they provided a nice card with a recipe for cookies, loved it! Had a old fashion and it was delicious, theirdrink specials for the night were also amazing. Just fantastic! Will need to try the road trip one day. Read more
Well worth the price for the meals we had! Portions are decent size, and the customer service is stellar! Our drinks were always... refilled and we didn't have to wait to ask for more drinks. Will definitely be coming back to try other dishes in the menu Read more
Went on a flavourful and textural adventure with "The Road Trip" tasting menu! The sorbet palate cleanser was a welcome... surprise! It was a pleasant experience throughout, everything from the simple peeled tomato salad to the ravioli that used threetypes of peas. I would definitely do this again! Read more
Service was very good but the food was only mediocre. Four of us had the "Road trip", two with wine pairings, total was about... $750. Food was very salty which masked lack of other flavors. I have had much better meals at a fraction of this price. Read more
