Thought I'd give this place a try. First time here, always wanted to go for many years. Tried the Spicy Tuna Tartare and it was... not what I had in mind. It was bland. Wasn't sure what I was eating and the sauce to go with it wasn't good either. The waitressasked us how was it and I told her it was not good. She had no response and walked away.. No resolution. The Bison Burger tastedmuch better but it could be 1cm bigger for $20. The fries with dill were decent. Could be left in the deep fryer a littlelonger. It was still soft and not crispy. I heard this place was really good, I'm not so sure. I'll stick with Cactus Club Cafe. Read more
Fries with dill dressing was amazing, definitely recommend that side. The main burger was alright (I've had better for sure) and... they accommodated my request by taking off the tomatoes and lettuce, however I'm not a fan of processed cheese because it madeit taste weird. I didn't finish the burger for that reason. Wait staff though were friendly hence still a good tip. Read more
Beautiful spot. Delicious food. We walked in without a reservation and they gave us a private table. Waitress was very friendly.... Prices are fair. Good drinks too! Read more
Food was excellent but our service was terrible. I had to keep flagging down the waitress for a coffee or water refill. She... never came back to ask how the meal was. And it was not that busy in the location at lunch time. Read more
My wife and I went to State & Main at Southgate location for the first time on Valentine's day! We ordered an appetizer followed... by main course. Food was good but we found a long human hair in the fried shrimp. We brought this to manager's attention. Hetried to be funny by saying, "oh we have a unwanted friend here, eh?!"???? .. and he offered a bottle of wine on the house. Goodfood but I'd inspect the plate before putting anything in your mouth. I’m giving a 5 star review for the simple fact that Michelle is the best server I’ve had in a long time. She had a sense of... humour, knew the best recommendations (the brownie dessert is to DIE FOR. literally still dreaming about it), and overall madesure that my friend and I had a pleasurable experience. The food is a little expensive for the quality your receive. Would not recommend the calamari (heavily breaded, over cooked),... but possibly has the best patio in the summer. Great for drink specials and pub food. Read more
