This place was my favourite sushi restaurant for over a decade. It was the best in town! Sadly, the new staff is unwelcoming. I... understand that everything changed with the pandemic, so I don't mind the price increase. However, the quality of theirfood–like their service–went down considerably. I don't know what is going on there, but for our food had a sour after-tastethat lasted for a bit too long. I guess the search for a new sushi place has begun. Read more
Nice place , good food , good service and cheaper than i think
The service here is unfriendly if you happen to be a visible minority or not with your office group. And yes, I realize the... servers are Asian. The food is great and it happens to be close to the office, which is the only reason I still give mybusiness. Beware of their online ordering system. Even if the system spits out a "confirmation number" for you...the serverwill very rudely tell you that she never accepted the order. And if you indicate that you got a confirmation number she willjust brush you off and not apologize for you now having to wait 20 extra minutes for your order to be prepared. 5 min later Isaw another customer go through the same process....where her online order was not accepted. So Tanuki...maybe you need tochange that so that customers do need to spend time waiting here due to the confusion caused by poor system design. Read more
Pretty good food for the money. Sashimi was decent but some pieces were not as good as expected. Had lunch Bento boxes.
Haven’t been here for years, food still tastes pretty much the same. Average food nothing that stands out. Service was great.
The maki rolls were disappointing as there was barely any filling in them, especially the fish. There are many other places(... Japonais, I love sushi, Nagoya, kiwado to name a few) that have sushi where you can actually distinguish that there is seafoodin the maki you just ate. Just not worth it here. See the picture for just how little fish there is and how badly portioned therice to filling ratio is. Chicken karaage was a little too salty. But I will say the tempura shrimp was good and the oilwasn’t disgustingly old. Read more
My new favorite sushi shop. Salmon sushimi was some of the best I've ever had and good sized pieces. Staff were friendly and... attentive. No complaints, great little place. We will be back. Read more
It's pretty decent, but be very aware of the filings of the rolls you order. They've started using a lot of deep fried crumb as... filling. It's not great. The snapper I had this evening was absolutely rank, although their produce is normally fresh. Read more
