The inside of this restaurant transports you to another time. Impeccably dressed staff, good food, good service? what?s not to... love. Had the weekend buffet for $29. I noticed a lot of people ordering straight from the menu as well.. if you?re stayingdowntown, you might find it helpful to know that you can take the above ground Pedway to the backside of Rogers Place, exit atthe LRT station and you?re only a couple of minutes away. I saw a couple reviews for this place - one that said it satisfied all of the nostalgic wants of a 90s family dinner and another... that said they absolutely couldn?t fathom how the Lingnan wasn?t one of the top 10 restaurants in Edmonton and I whole heartedlyagree with both. We are always on the look out for a good Chinese food restaurant and this is by far the best we?ve found inAlberta. We were lucky enough to get to partake in a special event buffet and my husband had to take a beat before his secondplate because he couldn?t decide on a single thing he wouldn?t get again. Someone said the wonton soup was bland and they?rejust mistaken, I?m thinking this person doesn?t know what wonton soup is supposed to taste like because this is it. My personalfavourites were the Szechuan beef and green onion cake but honestly absolutely everything was perfect. And the service - takeit from someone whose easily been to 500-1000 different restaurants throughout my life and all over the world - this was thebest and most warm hearted service I?ve ever had. I hope the family continues with this restaurant because I want to keepcoming for the next 40 years. Read more

If I could give 10 stars I would. The hospitality and safety concern they have for allergies is truly humbling. I ate here on... Sunday with my mom and sisters and one of my sisters has a gluten allergy. They were so accommodating, even making items thatweren't in their buffet at no extra charge. One lady even came out of the kitchen to guide my sister through the buffet so shewouldn't take anything she couldn't eat. I highly recommend this place. The food was also outstanding. Read more

This by far is the best Chinese food restaurant experience I have had in my life. If you?re from Edmonton you should be very... proud that you have a hidden gem here, and probably one of Canada?s best Chinese food restaurants in the country. I couldn?thelp but reminisce about the days going out for Chinese food with my parents in the 1990?s , I recall the thick paper napkins, the cherry that came with the drinks, reading the menu on the paper placemats, drinking water from the bronze colour glasses, eating the big handmade egg rolls and watching the colourful goldfish. These are fading traditions in many Chinese Restaurantsacross Canada, however at The Lingnan you can still experience all of this. You will be completely impressed with the selectionof food items, and drinks. The customer service was impeccable. The food was flavourful, and tasted fresh. Portion sizes, andpresentation was amazing. That saying don?t judge a book by it?s cover, well don?t judge this place from the exterior of thebuilding. The ambiance/decor was the best I?ve ever seen in a Chinese food restaurant in Canada, it?s truly an Instagrammingdream! This is a family business that has operated for well over 65 years. They definitely work hard for your business. I wascompletely impressed by how the restaurant staff took the time to go outside and shovel out a path for me to get through as thecity had plowed a huge wall of snow and ice in front of the side walk from clearing off the street. The Lingnan offers a buffetbefore Oilers games, and they serve their to go noodles in fancy carton containers (the kind you see in the movies) If you?revisiting Edmonton, Alberta like I am at the moment, this must be on your list to check out this truly one of a kind hidden gem!And if you live here , be proud this place is in your community and do what you can to support this business. Thanks Lingnanfor this most positive experience tonight! Read more

Went to the Lingnan for the buffet they had! Gotta say, the service was unparalleled! They were so so kind, professional and... attentive! They kept clearing plates and asking if we were all good! The food was also delicious! Made to perfection. Ipersonally was a fan of the chow mein, peppered beef and the shrimp! And the mini Chinese donuts were the best way to finishingoff the meal! We tried Lingnan for the first time. Even though we have planned to visit this restaurant many times after every time we had... their dry spicy chicken in the Taste of Edmonton. This was an amazing experience from the very start found the staff very politejolly helpful and attentive to our needs. The dishes we ordered were made perfect served with great passion and we're explainedas per Szechuan culture. The Lingnan has gained the top spot in our Chinese go to restaurants. Thanks to the whole staff fortheir hospitality and a perfect family night. Read more
