Was up visiting friends and they recommended Peel wood fired pizza. Place was awesome. You know it?s great when on Saturday... afternoon around 2 pm there?s still a 30 minute wait. Definitely worth the wait. Place is immaculate, service phenomenal andthe food is amazing. Started off with a drink (cocktail ) called psycho killer. It?s a chocolate banana old fashioned. Thebartenders come up with very original and unique drinks. Started of with 6 wings. You have the option of all drummies or flatsfor just $1 more. I went with drummies in a maple bacon bourbon glaze. Then had a soup n sandwich combo Turkey bacon onfocaccia bread with a wild mushroom soup. Washed it down with a local beer called pinky and the brain. Beer with a taste ofguava juice. We all got a pizza to go. Was a ricotta pie and the to go boxes are actually round lol. Whole experience wasexcellent Read more

Excellent pizza, atmosphere, service, and beer! The quad-fecta. There was a decent wine selection too but I was all about the... beer and pizza. We were a party of 5 (2 adults, 3 young teens) and there was plenty of option for everyone. We started withthe Mexican Street Corn that was just fantastic, even the kiddos enjoyed. My wife and I split the Prosciutto, which was a greatcombo of flavors...never had potato of pizza but it worked well. Kiddos weren't as adventurous and had the Pepperoni but therewere tons of pepperoni so no complaints from anyone. There are many other choices for non-pizza diners and judging by thequality of what we had, I expect everything else to be very good. The location is great too and there is a very large deck tosit and enjoy eating outdoors. The traffic is not too bad so it was quite peaceful on the patio. Read more

The pizza was okay. The salad was excellent. The dough in the center of the pizza was soggy, thin and the toppings fell off of... it. A tad bit burned, but that?s sometimes the case with wood fired pizza. The pizza also had a layer of flour that was left onyour mouth after you ate it. The staff was amazing, service was quick, I think we just ordered the wrong the pizza. The halfsouthwest salad is something I?ll definitely go back for. I?m keeping my review at 4 stars, until I try the pizza again.. afterI try it a second I will update with an extra star if the pizza is better. Read more

My family stopped while traveling through the area and we were impressed with this location. The building is spacious and well... laid out with comfortable seating. We had potato wedges as an app which were great especially with the dipping sauces. I had thedaily special (hot honey pepperoni pizza) which was good, but the pizza crust was soggy in the middle. Also, with the pizza Ihad the house salad as a side which was huge and tasted great. If we are in the area again, we'll definitely stop. Read more

Review Date: June 20th, 2014 I find their pizza a-peel-ing. Let us take a step back in time to 2014? to a time when I had the... worst food envy ever? to a time where I had the best pizza ever. On another visit to some friends in Edwardsville, one of themsuggested we check out Peel Wood Fired Pizza for dinner. We hopped in the car and headed over there. Upon arriving andstruggling to find a parking spot, we made our way to the front doors. That is when we knew why we struggled to find a parkingspot. This place was packed. I don?t recall the wait time but we decided to stick around and see what the fuss was about. Thehostess was nice enough to let us know we could grab beers from the bar as we waited; my friends did just that while the rest ofus waited for the table. Finally, it came time to grab a seat. We were presented with unique menus and a smorgasbord to choosefrom. We all put our heads together and decided to divvy up pizzas based on groups, to make things easier. So, we placed anorder for 3 pizzas and some sides. While we waited, we chatted and I took in the surroundings. This place was popular! Not onlythat, but it had an almost upscale feeling to it. The prices definitely reflected that upscale feel. After the usual amount oftime one waits for their food, ours came out. Instantly, I had food envy of the other pizzas at the table. I believe my groupordered a pepperoni/sausage-style pizza while one of the other groups ordered a BBQ buffalo chicken pizza. I quickly offered totrade one of mine for one of theirs. They declined. I sulkily grabbed one of our slices and threw some crushed red pepper onit. One bite. One chomp. That is all I needed to know that while I had some major pizza envy, that didn?t detract from howamazing our pizza was. Bite after bite, I was in love. We also ordered some appetizers but I didn?t try them too much as I wassaving my hunger for pizza. It was worth the wait. From struggling to find a parking spot to suffering Read more

Great, great, great meal. Fantastic atmosphere. Friendly staff. Pizza and apps were what they should be: awesome. Big... surprise was the dessert. They have one or two at a time. One seasonal, one "Chef's Special." The Chef's Special was an OreoCheesecake. Superb. Balance of sweet to tart was on point. Turns out, the owners were pastry chefs. Or something likethat. Point being: They will absolutely give you a box to put leftover pizza in. Do that and get the dessert. Read more
