Unique little restaurant with a great outdoor patio space if you're distancing. Our waiter saw the masks and made notable... efforts to get only as close as needed, when needed. The pulled pork Rangoons were really interesting, and the other menu itemswere unique and pretty good. The Blue Heron drink is so so, but if they're gonna name it after the restaurant, worth doing in myopinion. Five stars primarily for great, thoughtful service and unique, creative menu items. What a wonderful surprise! This place is hands down the best place to eat in Effingham. The food is so good. It’s fresh and... top quality. We had smoked wings, and spring rolls to start. My entree was one of the best steaks I’ve ever eaten. Thekitchen, five out of five, they definitely have it going on. The wait staff were fun and on point. Cannot wait to go back. Read more
Heron Cove never disappoints! The food is always amazing and I've tried nearly everything on the menu at this point (no shrimp... for me). We love the staff as well as they are all very friendly and accommodating! The chef will even make you an extra hotsauce upon request that will kick you in the face. Read more
We had a great experience at Heron’s Cove this evening! It was a busy Friday night, but we only had to wait about 15 minutes... for an outside table. They gave us a choice of sitting inside or out, but it was a nice evening, and it’s always fun to eatoutside with a view of Lake Sara. Our food and service was incredible! We shared a 12 oz. steak with steak potatoes and greenbeans. I also had a side salad and my wife had some pasta and cheese. Everything was cooked and seasoned perfectly, and ourwaitress was very attentive and helpful. We will definitely be coming back here - highly recommended! Read more

Absolutely lovely environment, fantastic place to spend a night on the lake. Wait staff was nice, attentive and very helpful... with all questions and recommendations, kitchen staff ABSOLUTELY knows what they're doing. Environment is easy and relaxing.Ordered smoked wings for an app, the 7.5oz Burger, and my friend ordered Vegan Nachos. I would order the nachos as a non vegan,they were great. All the food was fantastic, I will absolutely be coming back this summer. Dinner reservations are recommended! Read more
