Nice atmosphere with good food. Large portions. Service is slow. Will eat here again.

Decent Mexican food. Menu has a lot of variety in options for food and drinks. Free chips and salsa. Large indoor and outdoor... seating area with a Mexican vibe. Love this location because of the beautiful outside seating area it really feels like you?re in a far off place in Mexico... perhaps at a Cantina. They have a great sizzling combination plate that has shrimp steak and chicken it comes out sizzling it?swonderful you must try it if you like combinations and you like fajitas you will love it it?s called the ?Comal.? Taco Tuesday happy hour from 4-6pm at the bar only with live music at night. We arrived after 6 and sat in the outdoor patio.... The food was mediocre 3/5 but the service and split check option was 5/5 giving this place a total 4 stars. I had asked forsplit checks, we each ordered drinks with sampler and dessert to share among 4 of us. Two others shared an entree. When we gotour checks, I was surprised to see that the charges were split even by 1/4 and 1/2! I wished all restaurants did this. I gotthe mango chamoy margarita. 16oz was $11 and 18oz was $12 so I got the larger size. It was blended and I couldn?t taste anyalcohol except for the chamoy. The sampler came with Mexican pizza, quesadilla, tequitos, ceviche, guacamole, bean and cheesedip. The items were already pre cut in 4 pieces which was perfect for us. We were full from the sampler and complimentary chipsand salsa. I got a chicken flautas combo that came rice and bean that I took home. We left a little bit of room for flan whichwas cold and firm. We also got the Carmel xango which is like apple filled donut with vanilla ice cream. Overall, great vibeand atmosphere. Inside I several dining rooms from quiet to loud. For me its the best in SD. Been enjoying the food here for 35 yrs. Its always exactly what I hope it will be. Authentic. Never... ever have we ever had anything but the best service and fresh quality everything. Flautas, tacos salads ar amazing. I alwaysover eat due to it being my cheat day. The location was hard to park at since there was a wall in the middle of the street of the shopping area and the front of the... restaurant had an outdoor patio taking over the whole driveway. The food and service made up for it. We came in at lunch andhad the Carne asada burrito lunch plate (no beans because I don't trust restaurant beans) and the stuffed chile with beefenchilada. The burrito was filling, looked fresh, and tortilla was toasted. The rice tasted and felt like it was just made. Thestuffed Chile was amazing! Better than most we've had because it tasted fresh and had a delicious breading around the Chile thatmade it stand out. The beans from the Chile plate was surprisingly good; it didn't taste like it was microwaved or canned. Eventhe chips at the beginning of the meal was hot and crunchy with salsa that was maybe a medium spice.. The only thing I didn'tlike was the horchata. Very sweet and not authentic at all. Weekday lunch was worth it because each food item was a dollar ortwo less than dinner but still nice, filling portions. There was no wait, the drinks came out in maybe less than 2 minutes andthe food took maybe 12 minutes. Read more

Not crowded on this Sunday evening. Excellent food, great presentation with fast and friendly service. And great cocktails all... with a very reasonable price. Oh and seating on the patio had a very authentic atmosphere. Definately worth repeating. Read more
