Lovely cozy spot in El Cerrito with amazing staff members. Super easy going, you really get the feeling that you are wanted and... respected here. Complimentary green tea and edamame beans. The sushi was amazing! We had three rolls, the Over the Rainbow,Godzilla and (i think) the Devil roll (a baked salmon roll). They were all amazing, fresh and delcious! What a cute cosy spot in El Cerrito. We were staying with friends and this place is literally 5min walk from the house :) I was... craving some miso soup so just walked there! Super convenient. Place is very cosy. Service is friendly and warm and bathroomsare very clean :) me happy! I went there with my 4 years old daughter and they were so thoughtful to bring complimentaryedamame for her :) We enjoyed our bento boxes which came with miso soup, rice, salad orange slice and mine had 2 differentsushi choices and for my child i ordered shrimp tempura and chicken teriyaki. Lots of leftovers which we happily took home:) They also gave me complimentary sweets for my child at the end but I declined since we don't do sugar but again, verythoughtful :) A beautiful experience I recommend to everyone who enjoys Japanese food. Great sushi and bento! Fresh and beautiful cuts of sashimi, perfectly done tempura, and delicious rice. Edamame is complimentary... at sit down. Service is great and friendly. Prices are great for the quality. This little spot has a bright, modern Japanesedecor and is roomy between tables. They also have a punch card for frequent diners that gets a free roll when it's full.Sunomono is great too. Read more
Literally my favorite sushi place in the bay area. Found it because my partner only likes deep fried sushi rolls and for some... reason couldn?t go to the place we usually went to. (Since visiting here she?s branched out into more adventurous options).Their deep fried options are amazing, but that?s not surprising because everything is. There are two full pages of differentrolls on their menu so you?ll definitely be able to find a combination of ingredients you?ll enjoy. The fish is all fresh AF,whether raw or cooked, and at an amazing price. I?ve found the value unbeatable to be completely honest. Literally have notfound anything wrong with this place at all. I expected the sushi to be a bit better for the rating this place had. Servers were very nice but salmon nigiri tasted bland and... was poorly cut (see picture). Eel nigiri was pretty good though. Read more
