I'm learning things about Arkansas bbq. Some of these restaurants we are visiting have been around for decades and the locals... swear by them. While I wouldn't necessarily continue to go to them, because of differing definitions of how the meat getssmoked, these places continue to do well. JJ's is one of these examples. Brisket doesn't really taste smoked or bbqed but has adecent flavor. Sausage is delicious. Baked beans were the best part of the meal and the coleslaw was just average. Employeeswere very nice. They were out of brisket. The pulled pork sandwich was a good alternative. Will need to go back for brisket
Love the BBQ Sauce! Great meaty ribs. Love pork bbq sandwich. Texas toast and baked beans are really good too.
Take off your shoes!, Before you bite into one of these Ribs... So you can wiggle your toes while you're eating it. Good... food.This restaurant has a homey feel to it. Although I've only ordered to go,it feels nostalgic,relaxed on the dining side.Theside items for takeout orders is put in a small cup. I used pics to show you as best as I could. I sometimes order and extraside. The meat portions are more than enough to me.Don't forget to add one or two of those pickled peppers at the counter,theyare crunchy,not spicy but good. Looking for a good place to eat and found this on Google and it seemed that people loved the food. It is a little "hole in the... wall spot" but gal taking orders, was also waitress and in between was sweeping the floors. I knew right off it was going to bea favorite because she was so friendly and outgoing. I ordered brisket, potato salad and BBQ beans. It came with Texas toast.The brisket was a bit dry but the food was great and service better! I would go back again if in the area. Read more
I've eaten here a few times while in El Dorado. Its a small place but they have been around a long time because the staff is... very customer service oriented and they're food is delicious. Its a little past downtown but still a great location and has agreat reputation for having quality food. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a true southern bar-b-queexperience. 45 minute wait for tough dry brisket hard to chew! Basically ketchup with red pepper flake for spicy BBQ sauce. Green beans from... a can. I wish I would've missed this one. Couldn't finish plate and I was hungry!!! Read more
