You have to try the burritos here. There are made with birria de res. Which in English means tangy beef or meat in a flavored... broth. Who cares it's delicious, these burritos pack a punch for their size. They're located in El Monte on Peck Road you can'tmiss him they're next to a fire department. Read more

Found this place through the Michelin Bib Gourmand - Homemade tortilla burritos with fresh shredded beef in a red or green sauce... is what you have to order. You can add beans and mozzarella to the burrito as well. Don't get the pork burrito (it's just cookedand slippery pork rinds). Very helpful and friendly staff. I wish they gave you chips with the to-go orders... Read more

A neighborhood gem for Mexican food. This popular take out only Mexican food restaurant is located on Peck Road in El... Monte. The restaurant focuses on only burritos and Quesadillas and they do them well. The long line is a testimony on how goodthe food is. I haven?t been here until my son told me about it. We came and got ourselves a burrito and Quesadilla. Both ofthem were fantastic. The handmade flour tortillas were so soft. We got ourselves some extra fresh flour tortillas to takehome. The service was very efficient. We only waited less than 10 minutes for our food. Considered all foods are made fresh, they are very fast in turning out the food. The prices are very reasonable. Parking is either in the parking lot next to therestaurant or on the street. Read more

Came to check the spot out for their birria burrito. When I got there I ordered a couple options but at the end of the day, the... birria burrito was my favorite. The juices in the meat just drip down this tortilla which contributed to the great taste. Handsdown, it was on point. My second favorite was the deschebrada, which was delicious for their shredded beef with green sauce. Ialso had the chicharon burrito and if you like that wet style then you?ll like it. It has a bit of a kick but not to spicy. Thetinga burrito was ok but still good. The small portions allows you to enjoy variety of burritos in one sitting. As of thisreview, no in door seating. Burritos La Palma is a tough restaurant for me to review, because they are such a unique operation, and they do a few key things... unexpectedly well. Rather than a deep-dive into why this Zacatecan restaurant serves slender burritos that can fit into one'spalm that many people (myself included) also would consider to be tacos, I'll simply leave it at that. Also, I'll save theburrito history lesson for another review. And as much as other reviewers and food critics alike want to write about howBurritos La Palma somehow brought beef birria to Southern California, this notion is mistaken and, in fact, not even close tobeing accurate -- but since I don't have a better or more definitive answer, I'm avoiding that one as well. The first burrito Itried at Burritos La Palma was their "Tinga de Pollo Burrito." The chicken tinga recipe they use here results in a juicy,mildly-spiced tinga that is dominated by pork nectar and smokiness from its chipotle chiles. It is a messy, drippy guisado thatdemands a strong tortilla. The hand-pressed flour tortillas used at Burritos La Palma are based on a family recipe and areindeed both stout and fantastic: substantial, moist, a little chewy, with a flavor that makes me think "biscuits" not"burritos." The "Birria, Frijoles y Queso Burrito" makes even better use of the tortilla: they lay it on a griddle for a bit tohelp melt the cheese inside the burrito. The toasted surface creates a different flavor and texture on one side of the burrito, making it distinctively quirky. The feisty beef birria inside is well-spiced and decadently soft. The combination of their beefbirria, refried beans, and salty, creamy queso in their half-toasted flour tortilla creates a whole that is superior to the thesum of its parts. I would avoid ordering the "Flautas de Maiz," basically bone-dry taquitos with a small bit of shredded beefand a mild runny green sauce on it. As with many taquitos, the predominant flavor of these flautas was the deep-fri Read more

Very simple and limited menu. I ordered the birria and chicken tinga burritos and it was absolutely delicious! The meats were... juicy and the handmade tortillas were amazing. The burritos are small compared to the size that most of us are usually use to,but I was surprisingly full after eating two. If you have a big appetite, I would suggest ordering at least 3 burritos. Kiddo?s loves the bean and cheese, my husband and I loved they were all flour tortillas ???????????? the tortilla chips were... amazing. We got bean and cheese, shredded beef with potatoes, birria burritos and a chicharron burrito. The chicharron burritowas in salsa, I thought it was gonna be like different ?? but it was ok it was pretty close to home made recipe. Woulddefinitely come back. They just need more drink options, cus they just had sodas and water. For a Latino place I thought they'dhad aguas frescas ???? Read more
