Kona Grill will get another visit!! They were 1) open late 2) very clean 3) had amazing options and variety 4) Great service!... *(BONUS)* 5) cool design and atmosphere! We were seated and greeted almost immediately. We were given about 3 minutes to chooseour beverages and got them quickly. We needed a bit more to order our appetizers since it was our 1st time there and since therewas so much to choose from, and he was more than understanding. This was my first experience at the Kona Grill El Paso location. I just moved here from Dallas a few months ago and used to... enjoy eating at the Kona Grill locations there. So, I decided to give the El Paso location a try. The atmosphere, building andseating options are all very nice. However, the food and service I experienced was average at best. I ordered three rolls, theCrab Crunch, Bama Roll, and the Las Vegas Roll. Neither one was particularly good. The rice was a little strange, sections werestuck together, sauce was too watery, and the sushi itself was dry. I love sushi and these rolls were a little difficult for meto get through. The preperation quality seemed very commercial rather than hand made and the overall taste was not good. Out ofthe three the Las Vegas Roll was the only one I can say was decent. A single Jack and Coke is 11 dollars each with a 1 dollarliquor and almost 3 dollar food tax added on. Maybe this was a one off experience but that was a high price to pay for belowaverage sushi and over priced drinks. These prices are what I would expect to pay at a high end place in Dallas with exceptionalservice and this is not comparable. I'm not sure if I'll be back to try it again. I have to say we went out to kona grill for the 2nd time BUT we did the date night menu. You get a starter, 2 entrees and a... desert. All for 2 people (or 3 if you have a third wheel lol) and absolutely delish!! Jacob was our waiter. Him and the managermade sure we were happy at all times. This was our first time here and it is definitely my new favorite. From the service to the food to the ambiance and the... presentation, it was pure perfection. Abby was our server, she was extremely helpful and very knowledgeable on all menu itemsthat we had questions about. Her friendly and personable nature made us feel instantly comfortable and valued. While in town I had to visit this place as they used to have a location in Fort Worth, TX. Ordered my favorite dish, Oriental... Salad with salmon. If you want a filling yet light dish I highly recommend this salad. You will have a mouthful of deliciousand crunchy ingredients. We took advantage of their happy hours and ordered the regular and spicy edamame, and avocado rolls toshare with the family. The kids bento box was very appealing to the eye and to my grandson as he enjoyed each morsel. The pokebowl with salmon and shrimp was very refreshing as well. The stir fry with chicken served with with rice was very savory aswell. For dessert I recommend their carrot cake to share with more than 1 person as it comes as a bountiful slice. We shareamongst 5. Very clean, modernized, and enjoyable atmosphere. Our waiter was on top of refilling drinks and tending to ourevery need. Overall not a very good dining experience. The hostesses were rude, absolutely no greeting at all. Salmon dish was the only... thing delicious. Calamari was soft, not crispy. Rainbow sushi roll and Drinks were alright. Too pricy for the size andquality. Our server took order of foods & drinks, he brought drinks to us and someone else dropped our foods, clear the dirtydishes. He wasn’t checking on us until we had done with our meal for like 12ish mins and I was trying to make eyes contactwhen he was walking around $102 for this meal, everything as pictures (w/ only 1 cocktail) included 25% tip and I was notimpressed with both food and service. This is a go-to spot for us. The food is always delicious. There is definitely a wait time right now so don’t go expecting to... get in right away. Fun low-key bar and grill atmosphere meets sushi restaurant. Read more
