I ate here twice while in town for work with a coworker. His idea....not mine. This is the first restaurant review I have ever... given because it was that bad. Poor service. The waitress that served drinks kept walking by our table and ignoring us. Wefinally got our drinks and chips. I had to eventually ask if we could order food some time later and I guess I asked the wronglady because she said it had to be the other waitress. We finally got our food order in and got our food. The food is very blandand did not taste good. After we got our food any follow up from the waitress was slow or non existent. They had enough staff tohelp out but for some reason gave bad service and seemed more interested in talking with each other than taking an order,checking on the food, refilling a drink, etc. The phone was ringing non stop for over an hour and it appeared it was notanswered. I gave it a shot eating their twice. Never again. If they rally want their food to be bland I can live with that asmaybe that is in theme with the name of the restaurant but the service is terrible. Stopped by this gem after a day at the beach. The food here was great. Portions were perfect and the employees were super... nice. We tried a variety of plates and everything was tasty. Wonderful place! Delicious food that came out very efficiently and kind, super attentive service. No complaints at all and would... love to dine here again. Tried the beet salad, carne asade fajitas and guacamole - all fresh and tasty. Thank you for a greatexperience! Staff was very chill about masks and didn't ask about vaccination status, which is very appreciated here in thecommunist city of Los Angeles. Read more

I thought I was on a hidden camera show when I was here. My wife and I asked for a margarita with the chili on the rim instead... of salt because we like it spicy. Seems simple enough right? They came out with plastic water glasses with chili flakes (theones you sprinkle on pizza) completely covered in it. Lol we asked a gentleman why they didn?t put Tajine on it? And theypointed at the name ?El Gringo? and said look it means the white so what do you expect.. I was too hungry to put up an argumentso we just reordered without the pizza chili flakes on the rim. I then ordered the carne asada plate and it came out no laterthan 3 mins after I had ordered..it legitimately looked like dog food and was heated up in a microwave. The happy hour menu is a hidden gem. If you are in a pinch and looking for a really good margarita or taco this is yourspot. I... would avoid the quesadilla in the future as it's not a lot of food relative to other dishes. One enhancement to the menu wouldbe bringing churros on board as a dessert option....or flan ????
