Loved this little out of the way brewery! It's a big place with indoor and outdoor seating, a good range on beer on tap, hard... seltzer, wines and food. Happy hour is 3-5pm, with $2 off beer and small plates. The food selection is pretty big, a mix ofHawaiian, pizza, salad and mexican. The pizza is the stand out choice- worth the punchy price, it was absolutely delicious! Theonly minor drawback, was the slightly over attentive service- it was pretty quiet and there were loads of staff, so it felt likesomeone approached for some reason every few minutes, despite us being sat at the bar. Now this place is a gem. Let's start with the server. She was AMAZING. Working what seemed to be an infinite number of tables... and was still attentive. Next the drink. We met Bret and Janice, the proprietors, while out one night. They told us about their brewery and we had to try. It did not... disappoint! Chef Noah commands the kitchen. We started off with his habanero-apricot margarita alongside a pair of beer flights.All spot on. Next were apps which all were great. Standouts were the green papaya salad and poke. Three great pizzas rounded outdinner. Chef Noah came out and told us about them and they were great. Tangy, malty, chewy crusts and well topped. Chef had eventold us about the sausage he had handmade the day before for one of our pizzas. We?re Brooklyn folks to the core, so pizzapraise is something we dole out parsimoniously, but kudos are due here. On a related note, it?s one thing to try a restaurant?sfood and judge it on its own. It?s another thing altogether to meet the people behind a place and meet the people making yourfood, and hear about their passions. Couldn?t give higher marks on this point. Kauai Island Brewing Company is definitely worth a stop. We enjoy checking out local breweries whenever we travel. The beer was... good but the food was even better! We enjoyed the calamari strips and the spicy poke. Our waitress had a fantastic personalitybut was perpetually apologizing because they were very short staffed so our waits for drinks and food were long but we weren?tin a rush so it wasn?t a problem for us but others around us had less patience. We?ll return on our next trip! Read more
Beer is good! Fun to try. Calamari is good. Unfortunately the fish and chips is extremely bland. Fries are good - fish is... supposed to be beer battered, but doesn't have any real seasoning or flavor, don't recommend it. I'm not a person thattypically likes fish and chips for just that reason - it's usually bland, and despite the menu description, this is bland aswell. Even the marine base on Oahu has super tasty fish and chips (coming from someone who usually doesn't like them!), and Idon't think it's even fresh catch, so this place has no excuse for such a bland dish. The food is great here. I got the calamari and when it came out I thought they gave me mozzarella sticks! Really good, I highly... recommend it. My husband got the poke and that was also delicious! The only thing I would note is they were really busy when wewent and had to wait quite a bit to get our drinks and food, but the server was really nice. Read more
I don't have to tell folks in the beer scene to check this place out. You will find your way here. And you'll be happy with the... solid meal that comes along with the beer. I hate to give it all the stars as I think they have a hard time keeping up with thecrowd at times which I totally understand but once we got seated it was game on. Great outdoor patio for those liking a bit ofal fresco dining. So bring your patience and enjoy your beers and good eats with some aloha spirit. Read more
This place was recommended by a friend who had been here. . When we arrived there was a line so we waited about 30 minutes. We... walked across the street and booked our blue dolphin Kaanapali sail cruise to kill some time. When we returned to the restaurantwe were able to get our table and ordered the fish tacos and 2 beer samplers. The restaurant was busy so it took a while to getour beer but the food came out fairly quickly and was hot when it arrived. The fish tacos are large so you could possibly shareif you weren't that hungry. The food was good. I'd definitely recommend it if you're in Kaui. Read more
