Sammy?s has been our favorite Mexican restaurant for years. However I?m losing faith as the last two times I?ve ordered steak... burritos the steak has been so over cooked it?s inedible. I know it?s tough in the industry these days, but I was hoping themanager would have something to say to restore my faith for the next time we order. He was understanding but did not ask for ourinformation so I?m afraid the next order I?ll be dealing with same issue. At this point I?m not sure there will be a next time. Read more
Took a little while to get a seat but overall, food was delicious! I got pork tamales w/ fries ($12), a mojito, and my boyfriend... got Sammy?s Torta ($13). Staff was friendly and food was delicious. Can?t wait to come back! Read more
When we first arrived on a Saturday evening, the place was packed. When I asked how long the wait was, the lady up front told us... it would be a 30-45 minute wait. I told her that is way too long of a wait for two people, her response was ?bye? in a snarlingsarcastic way. She didn?t give me the chance to ask if the bar had a wait time. Maybe she didn?t mean it that way, maybe therewas a language barrier, whatever. We ended up sitting at the bar and were able to get two chairs at the end, next to thekitchen. The decor was nice, traditional Mexican with a modern sports bar type vibe. They had ALL Mexican beer on tap which waspretty cool. The menu is pretty big, lots to choose from. They started us off with a basket of tortilla chips and salsa. Thechips weren?t bad but they are definitely out of a bag, not home made. The salsa was watered down and had no flavor. I ordered afrozen mango margarita which was delicious but could of used a little more alcohol for the price. The waiter we had wasfriendly, attentive and on top of his game. Slightly disappointed we didn?t get a female server cause here at Sammys, they areall smoking hot. I ended up ordering the steak enchiladas suizas with the red sauce, my wife had the 3 steak taco dinner. Myenchiladas were really good but not great, the steak tasted like it was made in a pot,and NOT flame or charcoal grilled whichwas disappointing. Same with my wife?s tacos. The beans and rice were good, however the rice was a little over cooked. The foodcame out super fast, which was great but this is probably why the quality is lacking. It appears nothing here is made to order,it?s all precooked and the guys back there just slap it together as they receive the orders. Great authentic Mexican restaurant, great atmosphere the food is always fresh. I tried their governor tacos and they were... everything I was expecting and more! I don?t know what is in the sauce but it just melts in your mouth. Best shrimp tacos I?veever had. Their salsas that come with the tacos are amazing too, the red one is a chipotle salsa and the green I believe is justa tomatillo base. Highly recommended to eat in or dine out won?t be disappointed. Enchilada's Mole fantastic. Also good Queso Fundito, tho no spice at all. Good selection of Marguerite's. Fun place with good... food. Love the salsa and chips! Burritos are amazing, too! Big homemade tamales, Flan was great! Read more
