The fried snapper was PERFECTLY SEASONED, crispy on the outside, tender on the inside. The onions and sauce sprinkled on top has... a nice spicy kick to it. The sides were great! The drink with Pango was also amazing. My first time here and will be back! Greatwaiter, very attentive and did such a great job! Read more

Excellent spot for Haitian cuisine. Beef Legume was amazing. Paired deliciously with the rice and sweet plantains. And of course... the Pikliz which is always a must. The Akra for an appetizer was an excellent choice. I will admit the prices are a bit highdepending on the entree of choice & the protein, but the flavor makes up for it. We did also have to wait a bit for the food tocome out. Overall excellent food, would love to return. Read more

My cousin and I have gone to one of the best Haitian restaurants in the tri-state(NY,NJ,& CT), First Republic Lounge &... Restaurant on April 16,2022. Our waiter (recommended our drinks) & service was great. The food was amazing,(not to greasy and oroily). The drinks were okay(I thought it would have been strong). It was kinda pricey (in my opinion) but it was worth everypenny. Great service, will always get a great tip from me. It wasn’t my first time there and it won’t be my last time. Ihighly recommend you go there. Read more

Excellent Haitian food in NJ. And staff are nice. The photo is blurry. I had griot (fried pork) with rice and beans, a side of... sweet plantains with Haitian macaroni and cheese. Delicious cocktails too. Read more

I found this place doing a Google search for soul food spots in NJ. What caught my eye is the place is owned by Kean University... friends. We decided to check it out and I'm so glad we did. The spot was nicely decorated with an upscale flair. The art on thewalls is done by a local artist. The food and drinks were excellent!!!! The staff was very good and all for a great price. It isauthentic Haitian cuisine and music. Plenty of room to get up and dance. Will definitely visit again. Just need to turn themusic down a smidge so you can have a decent conversation, but 5 stars for sure!!! And it's Black owned!!! Love it! Read more

I have been to this place a few times but this is my first review. When I arrived I parked on the street and walked in. I was... greeted by the bartender and she was very nice and had good conversation. I ordered a sangria and the vegitarian legume withblack rice to go. The sangria was pretty good and so was the punch drink I ordered. The food usually takes long to come out so Iam glad I had my drink while I waited. The food finally arrived and I paid about $47 for 2 drinks and the food. When I got homeI dug in and it was pretty good and there was plenty. I had a pretty good experience. Read more

Hands down the best meal I’ve had the pleasure of tasting. This dish was phenomenal. I asked our server to tell the chef how... amazing it was. The atmosphere was welcoming, the menu is small, so I can understand why the food was so delicious. If I’mstill ever in New Jersey again, I’ll definitely make a point to go back to First Republic.
