I absolutely loved the experience at Fujiya. The restaurant itself is intimate with seating for about 60 people including... individual seating along the cooking and prep station. It’s an open floor concept so it feels like you’re dining insomeone’s home as a welcomed guest. The ceilings are high with candle lit lighting throughout giving off a warmth you feel asif sitting beside a cozy wood fire. I don’t recall any specific music playing but the cheerful chatter you hear in thebackground likens to a group of lifelong friends meeting up at a bar. The food presentation is intentional, meticulous, andfragile. The flavors are delicate, and yet has depth that makes you contemplate the layers of each flavor. And last but notleast the service here was seamless from the moment they greet you at the entrance to the time they bid you adieu. Read more

Literally the best sushi restaurant in the entire Sacramento region. I've tried so many places in/near Sac and I'm willing to... drive 45 minutes here just to eat their rolls and sashimi. I've been here 5 times and brought my family and friends here too.Great quality rolls and they actually give you a lot of sushi per roll. Also, the staff here are so friendly and attentive. Theyonly opened 9 months ago which is very impressive!! Let me start with the best roll on the menu: Kobe roll: seared kobe beefwith baby lobster salad on top of tuna, tempura flakes, tobiko. Every bite is literally a gold mine. So much flavor, especiallythe torched kobe beef!! ???? Kamakaz roll: soft shell crab here is cooked to perfection, also comes with crab meat and babylobster salad. Get it, it's worth it. Sakura roll: soy wrap (in place of seaweed) is delicious. Salmon, tuna, Hamachi, crabmeat, baby lobster salad, tamago is a great balance of flavor. It's sweet, salty, and so so fresh. They just put on 6 newrolls! Will try the Gucci roll and Osaka roll next time as I've heard that they are the best. Edit: Osaka roll: unagi, searedtuna, and salmon with savory sauce. Very good combination of flavors, great choice! Ordered chirashi bowl and it's a decentamount of fresh salmon/tuna/hamachi/tamago/ whatever else the chef wants over rice. Good if you want to fill yourself up on rawfish. Daily chef's choice sashimi is a stunning presentation of their freshest available fish. We got shima aji, otoro, snapper, wagyu beef with fresh uni, ikura, salmon and a few others with pickled wasabi. Served atop ice and dry ice. 100% worthit for the taste and the experience! Oysters were fresh, meaty, and flavorful. Can't go wrong with this one. Oyster shooterswere also fresh but a tad bit salty for me. Uni nigiri had gold flakes in it! Better than most other restaurants. It's hard toget fresh uni in Sac. Miso soup was mushroom based and so unique compared to other restaurants! I loved the Read more

The wife and I went on a Friday date night and decided to give Fujiya a try. We had to wait about a half hour since it was... 6:30pm so prime dinner time. We were able to get seated at the sushi bar. Not a huge menu which is fine with me. We ordered 3rolls and were very happy with the selection we choose. Had to wait a while for them since they were slammed, but it was worththe wait. Very nice presentation and very fresh fish for sure. We will be going back for more. Read more

Servers were very friendly. We came around 7pm and there were many people. Miso ramen was good but little bit salty. ... Truffles hamachi appetizer was so good, so we had very high expectation for our next 2 rolls of sushi, Kobe and Osaka rolls. Kobe roll was OK because it had too much sauces which overpowering the fresh seafood on the roll. Osaka roll was better but notour favorite. I wished the menu has pictures so we know what the rolls look like. We usually don't like too much sauces onsushi. Read more

I would've liked more variety in flavor between the two rolls I had, but it definitely could've been how I ordered. It was... delicious, and I'm looking forward to trying it again. Read more
