The food here is excellent and they have a great beer selection. The falafel was great along with everything we ordered. The... price is not bad either. Update: Back again and even more impressed than last time! The appetizers and beer are bomb! Read more

Incredible beverage selection, unmatched in the state, especially for eclectic craft beers and natural wine. Very scenic river... view of the stone bridge, relaxing patio. Tasty and creative dishes, prepared with care. A culinary destination in NE Iowa. Read more

The list of beer you're given when seated is unreal for this little town. Then I was given the bottle and glass to pour it in... which read "The Red Monk" and it all became clear. Had no idea going into this restaurant that it was owned by the same peoplewho run the great Des Moines establishment. I saw an episode of Iowa ingredient detailing their menu and whatnot and put it on alist of must try restaurants around Iowa. Since I was passing thru to do some trout fishing I had to stop in. Service and foodwere phenominal. I had a pita, sesame seed, herb blend (including sumac!), and cheese along with olives for a starter. It was sofresh on this 90 degree day. The lamb tagine is making me sweat but has the best smoked paprika I've ever tasted. I would highlyrecommend if you're ever near Elader. Back to my dish! Read more
