Okay, so this place is not some large place you can get lost in. The opening feeling is so cozy. But don't let that fool you,... its so wonderful! And its a great end to a wondeful St. Augustine evening. Read more

I am giving this place three stars because we did finish our food ( we were really hungry). But the food was a big... disappointment. It just didn?t taste like Greek food at all ( I?ve been to Greece several times). The pita was good ( yet $3 apiece is a bit pricey), but the tzatziki tasted very plain; it had no garlic, no dill, and no mint in it. Pork souvlaki wasSWEET, which is not something you expect in this dish. Greek salad had no red onion, no bell peppers, very few tomatoes, andlots of lettuce. Does it sound like a Greek salad? Not to me, and It didn?t taste like one either )) But the biggestdisappointment was moussaka. I am a big fan of this dish, but not the version I got in Athena restaurant in St. Augustine. Themeat was very dry; I found some traces of eggplant in it but couldn?t taste it. Overall it tasted like a mediocre version of aShepherd?s pie, and it was definitely not worth the $19 they charged. The service was friendly, but not enough to compensate forthe food quality. Read more

The food was was VERY authentic Greek. And I should know, as I am a proud American Greek. The prices are more than reasonable... especially considering the large portions. Service was awesome and the ambiance took me back to Greece. I highly recommend theAthena. Also my daughter's name ?????????? Read more

Food was good. I didn?t love my dish - the lamb shawarma was too sweet. But our saganaki app and the gyro was good. Nothing... crazy unique with the gyro but a solid dish. The saganki was super well seasoned though and one of the better ones I?ve have. Read more

We decided to go to a mediterranean restaurant for lunch and found Athena. Looking at the menu we felt this would be a good... place. We ordered the Hummus platter for an appetizer, the hummus was ok not much flavor and the pita was fresh. I ordered theAvgo Lemono (chicken lemon rice soup) which was very tasty and the grilled chicken sandwich with potato salad. The chicken wasvery tough with no flavor and I was unable to finish it. My wife ordered the Caesar salad with grilled chicken and again thechicken was tough with no flavor. We told the waiter about the chicken and he said he will tell the chef. The price was 45.62for a lunch that was inedible and we not be going there again. Choose wisely!!!! I appreciate the discount. Salt is not theonly spice that adds flavor to grilled chicken. The toughness of the chicken is what made it inedible for me. There are ways totenderize chicken breast that could help. Read more

We recently visited St. Augustine and had dinner at Athena Greek Cuisine. My wife and I enjoyed our meals. My wife had the... spinach pie and I had the gyro platter. The food was very fresh and tasty. The service was prompt and helpful. I mentioned itwas my wife?s birthday and the waitress brought us a complimentary baklava after dinner. If you are in the downtown St.Augustine area and hungry this is the place to go. Read more
