This was our first time to the Purple Olive and already I am looking forward to going back. We visit St. Augustine a few times... a year and have yet to find a 'favorite' restaurant. The Purple Olive hit all of our criteria. It is family owned, intimate andwe found they excelled at the quality and taste of the food as well as service. Our server, Jill was friendly and went the extramile to help us decide on our entrees. There are SO MANY great things on the menu that I would never cook at home. My husbandhad the artichoke pasta dish with shrimp and I had the chef's special halibut. Both were cooked to perfection and delicious. Such a delight to find this restaurant. It is less than 10 miles from down town and an easy drive. I am 100% sure you will beglad you gave it a try. Read more

My husband and I are in town celebrating our anniversary. We just ate at this amazing restaurant tonight! I have to be gluten... free and the options here are out if this world awesome! Staff was super sweet and attentive, food was seriously 2 of the bestmeals we have ever had! We recommend this place to anyone! But gluten free foodies...it is a treasure for sure! Supercharming decor as well. It will be a destination stop for us every time we are in this area from here on out! Read more

Greeted at the door with friendly hosts and promptly seated. Water was brought promptly with bread and spices to follow (olive... oil on the table). Plenty of good selections from the menu or tempting specials to choose from to appease most palates. Somemenu items seem a bit pricey but in line with the area and economic cycle. But plenty of choices from a variety of priceranges. I had the macadamia encrusted salmon which was most excellent (recommended). We had the coconut key lime cake fordessert which was also very good (enough to split for two). Service was attentive and friendly. Overall a good meal and a goodvalue for the price. Read more

Purple olive was an easy choice for us and when we found out they had our date open after multiple postponements we were... ecstatic. I knew every aspect regarding the food and service would be handled perfectly and that put me at ease. I've workedwith their team at different wedding venues and they are top notch. Efficient, friendly, just good people. We had passedappetizers during cocktail hour, salads and bread , and a buffet style dinner. They even had a tray of appetizers for myself andmy groom while we had 10 minutes to ourselves before the reception started which was so helpful as it's such a long and busy dayand we were starving! The food was amazing and there was plenty of it for our guest count. Everything was cleared in a timelymanner but was never rushed. Our menu was phenomenal and they even made sure we had boxes to take back to our hotel room afterthe wedding. Purple Olive is the perfect company for your catering needs and everything is always so delicious. Thank you teamfor helping make our day extra special and filling our loved ones stomachs up (and us, too). Read more

Very good experience overall. Prime rib was delicious. The grilled Caesar salad was incredible. The lobster bisque was a good... but you could tell it was just a thickener added to vegetable soup, and it clearly wasn't lobster. It was either scallop orcrab meat. Staff was friendly, but the place needs some kind of sound dampening. Read more

Wonderful hidden gem. A good steak that was cooked to perfection & a very tender piece of meat. The chicken Parmesan was... wonderful, and ending the night with creme brûlée was perfect. It was a unique restaurant for sure! Read more

My wife & I live in the area and go to the Purple Olive Restaurant on a very regular basis. I consider the food here to be the... absolute best on the island. Everything we've had has just been spectacular. However, what's not spectacular is the service. Asmany times as we go in to the restaurant - there's no nice greeting, or asking how we are etc. Tonight we spent $100 on twospecials and two glasses of wine - which is very pricey for the beach... the waitress never came back to check on us or ask usif we wanted more wine. I'll keep coming, because the food's that good... but it could be the whole package. Read more
