We took the advice of the girl working inside and got our food to go and headed down to the pier for a romantic date night. That... is until a bunch of kids came down there also ringing the mess out of that bell down there haha. We left our 5-year-old at homeon purpose ???? ???? oh well haha, the view was incredible and the little trail down to the beach was just beautiful. The onlyadvice would be not to get the crab cakes, yes they were fresh, but I had shells and every single bite that were hurting myteeth... disappointed bc they were sooooo hard to eat Read more

I?ve dined in at the Commander?s a few times but I?m only gonna go over my most recent visit on this vacation. Pros: The... outdoor patio may be small but it?s relaxing and comfy. Our waitress was nice too. I had ordered the Fish sandwich with Friesand for the most part it was great! It had the perfect amount of crisp to it and the fries were decent. Cons: Nothing to noteright now! This is definitely a joint I?d recommend overall! Honestly one of my favorites in the St. Augustine Beach area. Read more

Great location, if you are in / near Matanzas: closest to the South is the Palm Coast cluster. Food is great. So is the... service. $$ : 75 for 4 beers + 2 non-premium meals. Not all menu items are available, and if they are, they are only availablein that way. This might be fine is you have a laundry long menu list. However, if your "catch of the day" options is = 3,it becomes ... limiting. The average patron is 65+ (from what we were able to observe). The weak points : lousy beer + merikencrackers from ... the 50es. Tradition ? Maybe, but we are in the 20es of the next century. And we are accustomed to theartisan breads and craft beers. Keep up with the new generation, Camp! Read more

Love the outdoor seating. If you don't want to wait for a table you can get take out and eat at a picnic table in the gazebo by... the intercoastal. Too loud inside to relax. It is a small place and a small parking lot. Food was delicious. Staff friendly. Ourserver went the extra step to make my special dip for my sweet potato fries. I had two dozen steamed clams. They were tasty butvery small and a tad pricey. The meal was high to moderate priced for 6 oz catch of the day. Overall a good experience and Iwould go back. Read more

We were looking for a local spot to eat and Husband came up with this place. As a Navy veteran, this place is right up my alley... as the owner is a distinguished Navy Commander. The place was busy and everyone seemed to be enjoying their dishes. Our serverKaitlyn was a delight! I had the fried shrimp and Husband had the mahi fish sandwich. We?ll be going back again soon. We went for my husband's birthday. He loves oysters. We had 4 dozen raw Virginia oysters, cold, clean and they were delicious.... We had a bowl of clam chowder that was so rich and creamy loaded with their own clams. Shrimp and grits for dinner was deliciousas well. Read more

We were driving down A1A and came across this spot on our Google maps restaurant search. We love eating oysters. So we turn in.... Limited parking and outside deck seating. You go inside to check in with hostess. They are very nice. We sat outside. Theweather was perfect. Drinks are limited to beer and wine based, and they are short Diet Coke. We ordered oysters that werefresh, large and meaty. They claim they farm them out back and serve them table side. You are able to walk to the farm out backview and on weekends their is additional seating. Datil fish bites were incredible, the flavor and texture was unique. Grilledgator bites were also good. The seafood boil at market price was amazing, we asked for garlic butter on the side and it was sodelicious. $140 for two but we?ll worth it. Read more
