Visited The White Oak Tavern for the first time this past Friday and had a great experience! Our server Matt was great. He was... friendly, attentive and quick with service. We let him know it was our first time, and he shared his recommendations with us.For a starter, we had the Kung Pao Green Beans, and they were sooo good! The sauce with the spice of the pepper flakes and thecrunch of the peanuts made the green beans so tasty. For our main courses, I ordered the Bacon Chutney Burger and my husbandordered the Turkey Pesto Pasta. The burger was probably one of the best burgers I have had in Howard County. Even cookedmedium-well, it was still very juicy (not dry at all!) and full of flavor. My husband loved his pasta, he said the turkeymeatballs were delicious. We can see why this is a popular place, and will definitely be back again! Read more

I had a great lunch with a friend at the tavern. Both of really enjoyed what we ordered and the service was friendly and... efficient. We had lunch at an off hour so the restaurant was not busy. I brought home some soup and chili for my wife which sheenjoyed. She thought the corn & zucchini chowder was a bit too spicy, but she still liked it. We plan on a trip together to therestaurant next week. Read more

We all really enjoyed our food- old bay wings, burgers and fries, and the firecracker shrimp dish. We made a reservation and had... a nice booth in the back. It was a good experience overall. The wait staff was stretched thin, but still did well refillingwaters, etc. We went at 5:45 on Saturday night. The restaurant started busy, but started getting considerably busier and louderby the time we left. It started to get hard to hear conversation at our table. Tvs all around get distracting, too. They lookedto be getting ready for live music when we left around 8 p.m. Read more

Why for restaurant week. For one of the first times they had something for all three courses that I would order. Nice portion... sizes. My only complaint was the dish was too spicy and the shrimp for so small i didn't know if they were in the dish or not. Also the Blueberry lemonade slushy was very tart. Thankfully it was still half hour so it was only $5. The zucchini fries werereally good and the dessert was heaven. Saw they have a jazz brunch so I would go back to give that a try. Okay one morecomplaint, our waitress was a little weird. She'd come over to the table and just stand.....too close for my comfort, especiallywhen I'm eating. I would see her coming and say we were fine and she'd still come. I don't know if she were nervous or new butback up.... Please! Read more

Don't pass this place by, on account of it being a "tavern," as I almost did. Consistently excellent brunch and great beer... selection makes me come back again and again. When the weather's nice, their outdoor seating is amongst the best in EllicottCity. Top-notch craft beer selection as well! Read more

My friend and I were googled for a restaurant that made Frosé ( frozen Rosé wine drinks), had outdoor eating and located in... Howard County and we found The White Oak Tavern! What a great time it did not disappoint! Unbeknownst to me, It wasRestaurant Week in Ellicott City, which was a bonus! I was able to get a 3 course meal for $35!! My friend had the ChipotleChicken.. if you like spice and heat, that is definitely dish for you! My first course was the Caprese, which was a combinationof red tomatoes and fried green with mozzarella and a balsamic reduction......DELICIOUS! I plan to go back specifcally forthat! Next course was the main cost and I chose the Onion burger..... DELICIOUS! The burger was cooked just right and seasonedperfectly! The dessert course was a gluten free blondie brownie with vanilla ice cream.. wasnt bad, but it was a little toosweet for my taste. Plus, I was already full from the previous 2 courses. We also can't forget the Frose"s which werephenomenal! We had outdoor seating which was great! We were able to enjoy outdoor dining and even got some entertainment fromthe mariachi band from the restaurant next door! White Oak even had their own live entertainment indoors. I also discoveredthey had a Doggie menu! White Oak Tavern accommodates pets for outdoor eating and provides selections for your dog toboot! All in all, it was a great night, great atmosphere, and I will definitely be back again! May even consider bringingthe pup! Read more

We went on Mother’s Day - the busiest restaurant day of the year! They were out of several items and forgot one item. But... it’s clear they were super busy. One of the owner’s came over to apologize and gave us some accommodations for those things, which wasn’t even necessary in my opinion. GREAT service, great beer selection (Undecided? Ask for a flight!). I’ve enjoyedthe chicken cheesesteak and my son, a vegetarian, declared the chickpea burger - the best veggie burger he’s ever had! We’lldefinitely be back. Read more
