As usual, you can expect great food and get it! I am quite partial to their home made chicken noodle soup?..and chocolate cream... pie. Their breakfasts are terrific. Their coffee is good. Just everything here is tasty! On this visit, I varied from mychocolate cream pie and got a slice of their pumpkin cake with cream cheese frosting. Delicious! Read more
The Harvest Bowl with tasty warm wild rice, baked beets and sweet potatoes, and pine nuts is my favorite dish! It?s usually... enough for two meals. But the Meatloaf Mountain is definitely worth mentioning! Two layers of meatloaf on top of mashed potatoeson top of bread smothered in brown gravy.. oh my! The service is always great! And the pies swirling in the dessert display arehypnotizing! I also greatly appreciate the ?Little Library? outside the front door. We enjoyed breakfast at Governor's in Ellsworth and I put it up as one of my favorite breakfast spots. The portions are great,... the prices are fair, the staff are wonderful! If you have to wait a bit for seating, it's worth it. Their bakery items aredelicious as well! Read more
The quality of the food was great. My grandson and I shared a fisherman's platter. The price was $31.99. Not surprised, it's the... going rate in restaurants and takeouts. But the portions were very small when compared to other places. However, my husband hadthe meatloaf mountain and those portions were very generous!! We both enjoyed the coleslaw (some of the best I've had) and thecream puff for dessert was delicious! Read more

We visited this restaurant for my father's 73rd Birthday. Timmy our waiter was really friendly and helpful. The food (generally... ) was really good. We stopped by for lunch, and Dad chose the clam chowder for starters (which he stated was delicious) and thelobster roll for main. Mum was a little disappointed with her chicken pot pie, saying it was a little bit tasteless, but ate itall anyway. I had the maple fried chicken was really nice. There are lots of things to choose from on the menu, so there shouldbe something for everyone. There is also a fine selection of cakes to choose from, and the choc/peanut butter one wasawesome. We were all really surprised when Timmy brough over some ice cream with a candle in it as a birthday treat (a nicetouch). Overall this place gave us a cozy atmosphere with very friendly service. I would recommend everyone to visit at leastonce. We are going back for breakfast later in the week. Read more
