We have been to Serendib in Ellsworth twice and have taken out about three times in addition. Each experience has been... outstanding in all aspects, atmosphere, service, and food. The flavors are tremendously compelling, familiar in style and yettotally unique from other south asian cuisine we have had. In all cases we have started with the sour fish curry over rice andI believe you will be missing out if you don't do likewise. Bright, savoury, and outright delicious, this is a dish that shouldnot be passed by. Also noteworthy is the mixed rice, served with beef, chicken, mushroom, or eggplant. I chose the eggplant andwill now not be content until I have tried all versions of this dish. Perhaps this review is premature. Amazing surprise in Bar Harbor Ellsworth area! Best spicy Thai style Indian wings we've ever had. So glad this is in the area.... We visited the area and didn't realize a reservation is needed so we went the next day. Well worth it. Mango lassi and chai teawere perfect . Read more

I travel the miles to frequent Serendib. It?s that good. I love all the vegetarian options. Authentic and innovative... cuisine. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. Favorites have been the curries, naan, and the to-die-for mom cake. Outstanding. Read more
Best meal I can remember. Absolutely fantastic food, complex flavors that are very distinct. I had their mutton special recently... and it blew my mind. The lamb meatballs and the sauce were spectacular. EVERYTHING we ordered was delicious! The soup! Yum! Iwill add that I have an exceptional sense of smell and taste and eating here was beyond amazing because I could taste thevariety and complexity of the flavors in everything! Keep it up! Wonderful spot for vegan and gluten-free dining. All the staff is so friendly and accommodating, making me feel confident in... what I?m ordering and knowing that if I have a dietary specification they will help. We went a number of times in the winterwhen it was take-out only and recently dined in for lunch. Delicious and unique food with similarities to typical Indianrestaurants but more veggies and originality which I love. We're in Ellsworth, visiting Maine from Savannah, Ga. One of the best Indian restaurants we've been to anywhere! We got the... lunch special, Foraged Mushroom soup, Mulligatawny soup, Naan with chutneys and a chickpea curry. Really delicious, all of it! Read more
