This was the surprise restaurant of our Chicago trip. First the service for Easter brunch was excellent. All hot items were... served country style. The beef patty over rice with an egg and gravy was sublime. The potatoes were great and the Philippinesausage was to die for. The grilled salmon was cooked perfectly and the salad was bright and delicious. The Canton noodles wereamazing. The buffet had sushi, amazing fresh fruits and a wide variety of delicious deserts. Bottomless mimosas were excellent.I can't wait to come back and try their dinner menu. Definitely worth the 5 hr drive. Read more

Great alternative to driving to the city for good sushi in the western suburbs. The place nicely setup, but the tables are a bit... close together. Rolls were very fresh and not overly dressed with ingredients which is what I like. Ordered crispy rice spicytuna which was not a favorite but still good…chili tuna, dragon fire, and caterpillar rolls— all which were great. Willvisit again! Read more

After sharing dinner at the... restaurant with our guests, they were blown away with the vibe, the fabulous food and the wine pairings that Andrew (winesommelier extraordinaire) would suggest. I can’t say enough great things about Mata Ne. We have so many sushi places in Elmhurst but there was a reason I always drove... to Hinsdale or the city for my sushi. Not anymore! First, their service is outstanding. Andrew makes you feel at home as soonas you arrive and the bartenders are attentive and fun. Their wine list is amazing and they have fun cocktails to start yournight. Now the best part. The sushi! Wow. My faves are the surf and turf roll and the spicy tuna crispy rice. I crave them now.Love their spin on edamame but adding truffle…what!!! Hell yes. I love that their menu is edited and not overwhelming. Youcannot go wrong with anything! On a busy night their atmosphere is so fun and electric. You cab just tell everyone there ishaving a great time. If you haven’t tried Mata Ne, get there ASAP! You will not be disappointed! Read more

Mata Ne just became a new favorite spot! We live in Naperville and we have plenty of options. We heard about Mata Ne and their... Chef, so we made the 20 min drive to Elmhurst to give it a try. Neat space, has a "downtown vibe" which is hard to explain. Food was really good - Spring rolls were a big favorite, Tiger Shrimp tempura was a nice starter, Brussel & Kale salad was light- crispy and packed with flavor. Nice wine list, several familiar options, and others I'd not recognized. We asked a fewquestions and immediately were introduced to their Sommelier (yes they have an actual Sommelier), Andrew who was fantastic withhelping us through the wine list as well as the menu! Spicy Tuna Carpaccio was fresh and clean with a nice presentation. Truffle Honey Chicken was rediculous, I'm not sure how to describe the flavor, just lightly breaded with panko and a sweetdrizzle. They had a black cod dish what simply melts in your mouth with a side of broccolini (I love broccolini). Didn'thave desserts but the key lime pie looked good. The place was busy, but not too busy. I was told they're still working on moreoutdoor tables which will help. I'll be back. Read more
