We went there in person recently and the Buffalo wings were AMAZING, spicy and saucy and I was extremely satisfied. But for some... reason the buffalo wings come out more like bbq wings the 2 times we've ordered them for take out. They are still tasty but Iwish they came out the same or more similar like when we ate there in person because I absolutely loved them. Best wings intown! Read more
Are the fries always completely & inedibly burnt or are those just put in pick up orders? IDK but the mozzarella sticks and... tenderloin ain't nothin' to write home about. Once is more than enough for me. Will not return. Cannot respond to owner's replyso adding this: Freshness was not the issue. I live two minutes from there. I wish I'd taken a pic of the fries. Never seenanything served that burned. Heard the tenderloins were good but I guess people don't know a good one. Thick breaded mozzarellasticks are never tasty. This place was awesome. We were on a 10 day road trip across the Midwest and stopped here when everything in Independence,... Missouri was closed. Our waiter was fantastic and the food was great. He suggested other places for our family to try while inKansas City, but to be honest, the food at here was the best we had on our trip. The garlic cheese curds (vampire cheese on menu) are phenomenal. The burger is made with premium beef and cooked perfectly.... Tenderloin, fries and onion rings were all wonderful. Zero complaints. Can't believe I hadn't discovered this place sooner.Highly recommend. We ordered carry out at 5:30 pm and it was ready in fifteen minutes but only a few tables had guests. 3 orders of the appetizer GARLIC CHEESE BALLS, it's a MUST HAVE! My sister use to live in St Joe Missouri after college and... before having kids. She lives south of st Joe and I live in Southwest Iowa. Meeting in the middle is St Joe Missouri. This placewas the best! Keith and I have been telling EVERY single friend of our about First Ward House. I give this place a perfectscore. It's kid friendly, atmosphere is outstanding, and nice friendly people with a welcoming smile. I totally felt at home,there even if it was my 1st time there. We had 3 adults, 1 teenage girl and 2 kids 7years old and 2 years old. Thanks toeveryone at First Ward House. Read more
