Stopped in for a drink after a matinee movie (at the restored State Theater!). It was a beautiful but warm day so we sat out on... the patio in the shade. Very peaceful setting with a waterfall and gardens separating the patio from the busy road. Read more
We were not aware of the changes made - so my husband was really looking forward to the same food he had last time.... Unfortunately, we forgot last time was 5 years ago ??????? So you order your food and they bring it to your table. So more likeCulver's style. The food is smoked BBQ. We ate at a similar place in Charleston... and we enjoyed it. We also enjoyed Rockwoodin Ely. Great food. Plenty of parking - we stopped here on our 4 wheelers. Follow the approved roads (the road running throughtown in front of the restaurant you cannot drive ATVs on (you can cross over). Read more
Don?t go there by yourself with a dog. You cannot order. You have to walk inside to order. But they don?t allow dogs inside. One... of the food delivery people I won?t call them servers because they won?t take your order. Immediately told me I had to gooutside with the dog. When I asked her how was I supposed to order she could not answer me. I went around to the outside windowwhere there is a bartender and asked if I could order my sandwich through her. She told me no to leave my dog tied up alone withother dogs around and people and walk inside to order. At this point I just left. If you?re gonna be dog friendly there shouldbe someway to order food. The town of Ely besides this experience has been great. Read more
The food was really good, especially after coming out of the BWCA. The service was fast and friendly. We were there a little... before dinner time and thankful we had our order in as the place filled up fast. I would recommend the chicken sandwich and thesweet potato fries. Great bar and restaurant with big patio, live music, and good drink options. Thursdays they also do wood fired pizzas,... unfortunately I didn't get one but they looked great. We had the wings, fries and meatball sandwich. All in all it was decent,the wings were a little chewy and the flavor didn't pop. But hey, it happens, still a good place to check out. Read more
Easy walk-up style ordering and seat yourself type of place. Their specialty is smoked meats, the bbq pork sandwich was... excellent. We did order a side of Mac n cheese which was very mediocre. The cocktails are all interesting but on our visit thebartender was new and they were not mixed as good as they could have been. Read more
We were here before and after our BWCA trip. The smoked meats are wonderful! Had the Divine Swine and the smoked burger. Both... were great. Loved the patio, the fast service and the friendly owners, Dan and Kathy. Next time I will try the wood firedpizza?it looked amazing! Oh, and a great beer selection. Read more
