Their empanada is the best I?ve ever had. Crust is not thick and they warm it up in 7 minutes. I ordered 1 beef and 1 mushroom,... both are excellent. Since I?m not the biggest fan for sweet breakfast, this is the best savory breakfast. Hearty and warm. Juicyand soft beef with thin crust made my day. And mushroom was flavorful and plenty inside. Friendly staff makes this place extragood. So glad I visited this place after all these years of just passing by. I?m excited to finally visit and I will be cominghere many more times from now on. I arrived before they opened and they let me right in and got a café con leche started for me. I got one sweet (blueberry) and... one savory (chorizo) empanada and they were both delicious. A great way to start the day. Read more
This is located conveniently on the corner of Hollis and Powell. They have marvelous delicate empanadas. Don?t worry they aren?t... the thick breaded ones that taste horrible they are light and wonderfully deep in flavor. The chicken was especially good. Myfriend who had not had an empanada before chose the ham and cheese. A little outside of what I would?ve wanted to do but itstill tasted good. If all you want is a latte it is also a great choice. An absolute gem. The best empanadas I have ever had...and I've had a lot!! Most empanadas can be dry, not these! The pastry is... tender but sturdy to hold all the delicious fillings! We ordered sweet and savory. Mushroom- perfectly cooked mushrooms filledwith flavor. Caprese- tomato, basil cheese amazing! Eggplant- bite size perfection, not chunky or bitter. Apple and peach onesare minced, so the bite is perfect. Can't say enough good things. Took a BUNCH home for the family. The service madeeverything even better. Kind, helpful and smiling.
