Go for happy hour and try the blistered tempura shishitos. The classic margarita & classic Paloma were so good we didn't try any... of the flavor enhancers, but you can add charred pineapple, jalapeños, basil, etc. We had the salsa trio that comes withguacamole & chips: high quality. Look, if you want to learn about tequila and mezcal this is the spot. I drink tequila for a hobby and stumbled upon this place... as I was walking by. Mind blown by the selection of real tequila and the knowledge from the bar. It’s very rare you’ll finda place with such an array of tequilas and mezcals. Don’t worry though if you’re more into mixed drinks. This place is stillamazing. My gf got a mixed drink and I got a sampler of the Paloma - excellent. Nice little spot in Encinitas with a modern vibe, good music, and great drinks. It's a bit small on the inside, but outdoor... seating is the way to go anyway and there's plenty of high tops and regular table with heaters. The drink menu is extensive, itis tequila bar after all, but the bartenders take pride in their mixology skills and it shows. I'd suggest venturing away fromyour comfort zone and have fun trying something you wouldn't normally get. I haven't tried the food, the kitchen closes at 9,everything sounds good though and if they put as much care in their food as they do their drinks you can't go wrong. Ok, so we’re trying something new here at Henry’s Take. Our publicist @j_alexandra89 suggested that we begin soliciting... recommendations for new places to review, so this visit is courtesy of @tinytwointow. While I admit that @deathbytequila feelslike an intimating challenge, there’s nothing on the menu that will jeopardize your well being (unless moderation is not yourfriend). One thing is for sure, I definitely failed to meet the minimum coolness standards required for entry, but they let meslide in anyway. Particularly on a Saturday night, this seems like the place to be. Their Margaritas, Cuatro Salsas, and ShortRib, Crab, and Carnitas Tacos are ridiculously good. The music was upbeat and matched the vibe here, but was loud enough todiscourage conversations at the table. This place makes me think we need to develop some kind of rating system at Henry’s Taketo portray when our “subscribers” ???? really need to visit someplace. Sorry, I only had lemonade which was very tasty. We had a pear salad w steak, a bowl of vegetables & another of potatoes, happy... hour ceviche & carnitas & short rib tacos. I have to say the blue corn tortillas were very rubbery, hard to chew. I ate themeats & veggies which were tasty. All of the dishes had nice presentation & were flavorful but the point of the tortilla is toeat all of it. The ceviche was excellent & spicy. I WILL try a margarita on my next visit. Read more
