Excellent food and ambiance! I appreciate you can choose the fish and then how it?s prepared (salt & pepper only, blackened,... etc). Staff was friendly and service was prompt. Food was all well-prepared. Located in bustling part of Encinitas on the 101 soa perfect stop while shopping or running errands or coming from the beach. Will be back again! Read more

Very tasty place to eat. Not too touristy, friendly staff. It?s nice you come and make your order, then find a place to... eat. Good views and a good place to people watch. Close to the beach, free parking. I had the Mahi sandwich, my wife had thecoconut shrimp. We?ll worth the visit. Total for the meal was around thirty bucks. Read more

Fresh great quality seafood, good menu and perfect portions. We ordered ?fish shop seasoning swordfish plate, teriyaki red... snapper plate, fish and chips, blackened mahi sandwich and fish stew?. Teriyaki seasoning was a bit salty and not what Iexpected it to be so I really didn?t enjoy that as much. Everything else was great and staff was very nice. Plenty of seatinginside/outside but limited parking. Read more

A must stop when you are in Encinitas! The blackened red snapper was amazing! Fresh, flavorful and the portion was perfect. Fish... taco was crunchy with a nice size piece of fish and also grilled to perfection. Onion rings were good, not great and the ricewas just ok. The clam chowder bread bowl was delicious and creamy and my wife and I both loved the fresh bread it was servedin. Great draft beer selection with indoor/outdoor seating. We will eat here every time we are in the area. Read more

Fantastic seafood restaurant in Encinitas. Since this restaurant is located near the beach with busy tourist traffics, the line... here tends to get very long. But the line moved very quickly. This is our second time here. The line seemed to be longer thistime. I think today is Father?s Day, everyone is out treating their fathers for the special occasion. Even though it?s in atourist spot, the foods are excellent. I highly recommend the the fish tacos. They make the ordering process very simple. Youjust have to follow the 123 steps. 1st, choose the type of fish, 2nd, choose the sauce and the 3rd select how you want theseafood to go with, I. e. Taco or plate. I ordered a salmon belly taco which costed only $6. Since San Diego us know for IPAbeer, I got myself an glass of their special IPA to go with my Taco. Besides beer, the restaurant offers many varieties of winesas well. My wife?s jumbo shrimp platter was very good too. The shrimp are huge and the two sides that came with the shrimpswere delicious. This place definitely worth a stop over before arriving to San Diego. Read more

Oh my goodness, what a tasty find! My husband saw this shop on a drive through Encinitas, and so on a return visit to this... adorable beach town, we decided to check it out. So glad we did! We sat at the bar, and enjoyed the bustling activity; what an"on top of it bunch" of staff! We had cod fish and chips, as well as a grilled ahi salad. The clam chowder was some of the bestwe've had! The prices were very reasonable (well, California price reasonable), and I know that when we head that way again,The Fish Shop at Encinitas will be top on the list of "we've got to go there again" places.
