Generally a good time, a full belly with great service. My experience today was with a country skillet which had overcooked... (boiled or microwaved vegetables it seemed). Really took away from the flavour. Everything else was hot to order but not a lotof flavour. Egg would have been nice to have it scrambled a little better with the food but it ended up being a slab of cookedscrambled egg. Wife had the omelet and had a similar experience with the vegetables. Daughter enjoyed her plainbreakfast Waitress was busy but managed to pass by us 15 minutes which was getting a little too long. I had run out of water asdid everyone else. (Sunday rush hour). One of the locals that we work with highly recommended this place for breakfast, so 4 work colleagues and I went here as we... headed back to the airport to go back to Toronto. We weren't disappointed with what we got. The food was pretty good and theportions are very large. I can't remember anywhere else where the portion of home fries was so abundant. Coffee was not bad.Service was great. Our waitress checked with us a few times and topped up our coffee. I would definitely eat here again thenext time I'm in town. Bonus that this place is also a gas station, so I could refuel our rental before returning it. Read more
This place is OK for a quick stop on the road or going to the airport. But it's just a bit superior to a fast food joint and... maybe not worth the price premium over the franchises. The chicken wrap and clubhouse was the best of the bunch. The potatoeswere not good at all neither the fries or the mash or the baked ones. The fish and chips and sea food platter was just OK. Idon't recommend the hot turkey plate. Their tabke service is good and they bring out the food fairly quick if you're in a hurry. Read more
The Enfield Irving Big Stop is famous throughout NS for the delicious food and wonderful table service. On recommendation from... our server I tried the shrimp stir fry and the kids had the cheeseburger and chicken fingers from the kids menu. I also got thelemon meringue pie for dessert. I have been coming here quite frequently lately, and the cooks can never seem to fully cook something on the plate. my last time... there i got a poutine and the cheese was still frozen in it so i asked for a replacement of a traditional breakfast. that cameout and everything on the plate was cold except for the egg. the bread had way too much butter on it and didnt even melt whenthey put it on so it just goes to show how cold it was when they put it on. pretty sad that you complain about having cold foodand just get more of it. the waiters definitely do a good job and try their best, but i cant say the same about the cooks.definitely not planning on returning here after numerous times of leaving unhappy Read more
Stopped in for a meal on the way from the city to home. I ordered the Bacon Double Cheeseburger and poutine and was not... disappointed! The waitress, Kelsie was so fast and pleasant, our drinks never went empty and we felt that we were well takencare of. This restaurant has a diner vibe and a staff that makes the experience personal. Stop in if you are nearby! You willnever leave the big stop with anything but a full belly and a great experience! Read more
