I read a Westword article that rated this place among the top 10 for best green chilie in Denver. The restaurants' website also... boasts about having the best green chilie in Denver, so I checked it out. I was promptly greeted by a friendly staff member whogot me seated and quickly got me chips and salsa and a drink order. However I waited 10 minutes for the server to come take myfood order who was a different person. I was at first confused because I thought the person who took my drink order was myserver, LOL. Also none of the tables had salt or pepper shakers, not sure why. Anyway, I got the chili relleno plate, which wasdelicious. However, I have had much better green chili in Denver, and unfortunately the green chilie here did not make the top10 for me. It was pretty tasty, but there was no heat whatsoever. I would have even been okay with some mild heat but there wasnone. Also, the green chili looked a lot different than the photos on their website and the Westword article, which I foundstrange. Always enjoy eating here. They have close to authentic Mexican food which is always a delight. I've tried a handful of things on... the menu and have never been disappointed. My go to is Mole and this place has a really nice take on their version. Carnitashere are really good as well. Definitely a place I would go to over many other Mexican restaurants in the Denver area. Good old school Mexican food! Had to find another place for Mexican food after Bennys closed. After months of searching and... eating a lot of burritos and green chili, this is my "go to" for Mexican food from now on. Read more

Very good, family Mexican restaurant downtown Englewood. We?ve been coming here for a couple of years and the food and service... is always consistent. The chips and salsa are great. l really like the homemade chips and the salsa has a great flavor andtexture. If you love chili rellanos like I do, then this place makes the best! The pork green chili on top is great- has chunksof shredded pork and the chili isn?t too spicy, very authentic tasting. It?s got a very Tex Mex style to it. Ever since ownersmoved down the street to this location, there is so much seating available. We?ve never had to wait for a table. I definitelyrecommend stopping in. Other entree we?ve tried are the enchiladas and carne asada burrito, they?ve all been great. Read more

Long-time customer at El Tep (back to when it was next door to current location) so it?s an honor to finally write this review. ... If you are a fan of Colorado-style Mexican food, like large burritos smothered in homemade green chile, served with some of thebest table salsa out there, and with the option of mixing in American diner style bfast food for at affordable prices, then thisis your place! Personal fave is the green chile plate, TRULY EXCEPTIONAL! Service is quick and no nonsense. Viva EL TEP!! Read more

Didn't like this restaurant. Only three people were working (all three were incredibly friendly and worked quickly). They offer... one small size of margarita, which was mostly ice, and they use some kind of artificial fruit flavoring for the flavoredmargaritas, which tasted way too artificial and sweet. Our food was served quickly but was not hot. I asked for my owncombination, which was the cheese enchilada, taco, and rice and beans. The taco was just a taco shell with beef inside. Thecheese enchilada was cold and the cheese was not melted. The red sauce it was served with with bland and cold. The rice andbeans were great. I feel like I fell for the reviews. Read more
