Communication is horrible there. Ate there while on vacation and ordered the build your own burger had no idea and they did not... tell me everything was 1.50 to add cheese bacon lettuce. Bread was soggy. Husband got grouper and it was good, would notrecommend the burger paid over $20 for a greasy burger I couldn?t finish. The drinks are expensive $10 for a signature drink orspecialty drink don?t get the lock and key house drink. The hooch one was good draft beer horrible. The only reason they are getting 3 stars is because the waitress did a fantastic job & our drinks were spot on & very good . The... oysters were not fresh ( they were like taken out of the shell & washed in sink water & then put back into another shell ????-very rubbery - the lobster ???? tails were very rubbery too ( we had expressed our concerns to the waitress & the manager askedif I wanted to try another half a dozen and assured us that they were fresh ) I thought it was also nice that they did take itoff the bill though . Had lots of people tell us to go there & was a bit disappointed to get that experience . Still have thewaitress a good tip , it was not her fault & she did an excellent job. Editted - Read the whole review please..! The Lock 'N Key deserves 10 stars for Dinner, bur only 1 star for Lunch..! Dinner... Visit 6/11/2022: The quality and quantity of the food served at this restaurant is quite literally the best of any restaurantI've ever dined at and I've been to thousands of restaurants. The king cut prime rib melts in your mouth and can be cut with abutter knife it is so tender and succulent. The baked potato and broccoli/ cheese added the perfect accompaniments, and oh dearlord..the dinner salads with the in house made dressing was the perfect starter. My wife thoroughly enjoyed the Seafood combo,she chose to get it blackened and she couldn't stop raving about how great it all was. Her sides were a sweet potato and mac ncheese. Oh...I almost forgot to mention the baked rolls delivered to each table...mmmmmm! Great job Lock 'N Key team....Greatjob..!!! My wife's sweetpotato fries were visibly burnt, to the point my wife returned her whole meal. Our server only asked my wife do you want me totake it off your bill..? She did not even offer or ask if she wanted a different plate or anything, she simply walked away. Somy wife sat there with nothing to eat. Worse yet, no manager came by our table to check. No complaints about my first visit here. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating, and the prices are reasonable. The bang... bang shrimp and crab cakes were fantastic. Service was great and good came out quickly. Can't beat the locality to the beach,either! Read more
I was very impressed with this place. Even seating during spring break time and an hour before a sunset with 10 of us the wait... was only a half an hour. Food was great, with some interesting things on the menu. A wide assortment of fresh fish and steakoptions as well as many side dishes. Quick service topped it off. Not a cheap place, but worth it. Loved it! Hubby and I went to Englewood beach and I had heard about Lock N Key from a few people at my job so we just had to... check it out. First we went to the beach to soak up some sun, then we left the car parked over at the beach and just walkedright across the street to check out this restaurant. It was lovely! We sat outside and they had fans blowing with mist so itwasn't too hot. Our waitress was very attentive and friendly and checked to see if we needed anything the entire time. I hadoysters on the half shell, and snapper in this creamy spinach sauce on a bed of rice, and hubby had a crab cake sandwich. It wasall so delicious! First time trying this place and we were very impressed. We ate at 1:30 on a Friday and the restaurant was hopping. Service... was on point, food was excellent, and drinks were solid. Location is superb located right next to the beach (5-10min walk) andalso within walking distance of a playground for the kids. Great experience overall! Read more
