French-inspired cuisine at its finest, The Golden Pheasant Inn Restaurant is a gem of a restaurant, cozy and charming. The food... was delicious, the menu had terrific selections, and the presentation was 5-star. The service was attentive without beingobtrusive, and the waiter was very personable. I started with the Gem Salad, and it was divine. Baby gem lettuce, red and goldenbaby beets, goat cheese, walnuts, cucumbers, and a basil honey vinaigrette. I savored every bite. For my entree, I had the PanRoasted Ahi Tuna, rare. The presentation was beautiful. This dish had so many delightful and unexpected flavors. I think thismay have been one of my favorite Ahi Tuna dishes I've ever had. Their forbidden black rice was out of this world. To finish offthis incredible meal, I had to try a dessert. I choose the Lemon Poppy Opera Cake. All I can say is "Wow!". Very special. Themenu, food, service, and ambiance of this quaint country Inn were a 10 out of 10 experience. I will definitely return to thisrestaurant and am excited to try more savory, unique, and tasty dishes! Read more

This restaurant is my new second favorite!!!! I love the history behind this wonderful place but I love the scenery that it... situated on. We had brunch with our friends and we all enjoyed it. Food was so delicious and the cocktails were refreshing. Theprice is definitely justifiable for the food. The restaurant was very attractive inside but outside is probably the best seat inthe house. Location of the restaurant is unfortunately kind of dangerous! The building sits very near the edge of the street. There is enough space for parking and that?s it! Nothing more. Strongly recommend backing in your vehicle to park if you don?tthen it?s a game of chicken because you can not see traffic! I?m hoping there is a better parking space other than where weparked. Staff was very pleasant and attentive. A little observation, our friends had an 8 mth old baby and there are no changingtable available. She had to put the baby on the tufted seat that was located outside the restrooms. Overall the restaurant wasbeautiful and the food was delicious. Highly recommend experiencing this. Read more

AMAZING! My husband and I had lunch here last Saturday (early July, 2022), and had the MOST amazing meal! As others have said --... a little pricey, but worth it 100%. The combinations of flavors, including very subtle accents, is fantastic! The chef is agenius! We had: Summer of Love Oysters - beautifully shucked, perfectly presented Octopus Salad App - great ingredients! bestoctopus ever! Eggplant Bisque - creamy and elegant Duck Omelet w/Home Fries - delicious, w/a delicate fennel flavor Bayonne HamFlatbread - ingenious combo w/fig jam, blue cheese aioli, truffle vinaigrette, arugula (just the right amount of bite) I don'teven eat potatoes, but the home fries are simply to die for -- crispy and beautifully seasoned on the outside, and inside, apillow of soft heaven. Perfect side dishes like this are the hallmark of a great chef -- what attention to detail. I can'trecommend this restaurant highly enough! Read more

The Golden Pheasant Inn is a 1700 building that has been lovingly restored. Cherie was so helpful in getting our rooms( two... nights in one room and the third in the suite) and making sure that the chef was aware of allergies and dietary restrictions. The dinning areas and four rooms have an understated design, but are very elegant, and comfortable. Chef Mike made deliciousfood for our Anniversary get away weekend, and went off the menu with outstanding veggie dishes for my husband. During our staywe had car problems, and were ? stranded? at the Inn. Donna who managers the Inn, and her team went out of their way toaccommodate us during a trying situation; the kindness of strangers!! Thanks to Chef Mike for taking the time to chat with us,and for preparing fabulous meals. Thank you to the waitstaff: Melonie, Kevin, Olivia, Shelly, Roy, and Mitch, who were sofriendly and professional!! Thank you again Donna for always saying ? of course? to our requests, you went above and beyond. Welook forward to seeing you all soon. Read more

Beautiful place, elegant, classic decor. We only had drinks and appetizers at the bar so I can't really say much about the... food. The experience would have been better without the noise from behind the bar. The bartender conversing with the hostess andmaking/ shaking cocktails made it difficult to have a conversation. Very nice venue, we were seated on the south side overlooking the Delaware River. It was a nice evening with temps in the low... 70's, but the air conditioner vents right at my shoulder put out a constant flow of cold air, so consider bringing a sweater orwearing a long-sleeve shirt. Ambient noise is on the loud side. The table setting was very nice - elegant and bright. Waitstaff were attentive and professional, though they needed to shout to be heard at times. The menu is limited but elegantFrench-styled to match the venue. I ordered a tuna tartar which was beautifully plated, and quite good. Portions are on thesmall side given the price ($18 for the tuna), but the experience was worthy of the price for this dish. My entree was adisappointment and the reason for the 3-star rating. The waitress asked if I wanted the duck rare (which I assumed was thechef's choice) and I responded affirmatively. The result was very well presented, but the duck was both well-done and quitegamey. Even the fruit and sauces couldn't overcome the tough (for duck) texture and off-putting overtones. We passed ondessert. At this price point I can't give a better than mediocre rating when the entrée is so disappointing. Lots ofpotential here, but this was a big miss compared with our experience a week ago at the similarly-themed and BYOB La Provence inAmbler. Read more
