Very disappointed with the service for breakfast. Was seated in a timely manner. Served our drinks but then, had to wait just... over an hour after ordered. Then, people that were seated 10 minutes after us, got their food before us. Horrible! The foodwasn't good enough to spread a good word. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant. Run away fast! Been wanting to go for a long time and boy it was worth the wait! The onion rings are amazing, repeat, AMAZING! Plus one of the... best patty melts we've had in a long time. A gem in Escondido with a wonderful history, what more could you want?! Read more
Took my Mom for Breakfast on a Saturday morning. The place was hopping but we timed it right and were seated Immediately.... Despite the crowd our server was on it. Friendly and attentive. The food took a while but that was to be expected. Food wasgreat. They cooked the eggs over-medium which seems to be a challenge at some places, home fries and hush puppies were tasty.The Owner was so Nice. The only downside side is lack of Handicapped parking. I had driven past LWC many times over the years and had never tried it. A few months back we went for breakfast and had the... biscuits and gravy and it was delicious!!! I think it was just as Smokey took over. This is our breakfast a few days ago...formy birthday. Chicken Fried steak and eggs!!! The serving is perfect...just enough to need a nap ..lol. The CFS is well seasonedand FULL of flavor with every bite, and met with eggs over easy and home fries...its perfect. Their salsa also works perfectlyover the home fries for the meal. (Trust me on this) I have yet to try the Catfish...but I cannot wait. if you want quiet,small town diner experience with a little country radio in the backround like a diner should be...this is the spot!!! The catfish dish is excellent, and the angus burger ( the defibrillator) is amazing. Extra servings of catfish are 3.00, and oh... boy are they good even with just a squeeze of lemon. Had a chance to meet the new owner and a few locals who told me how muchbetter now compared to a year ago. All i know, if I'm heading north along I 15 this place is worth a second visit! Read more
