This is one of the most underrated restaurants in Escondido. I just had1 mar y tierra taco that was amazing, usually I drive to... German's truck in San Marcos but I pulled up to the walk up window and literally was ready to go in 5 mins (during lunchtime!) I am definitely going back for more soon ! Paid close to $50 for bland food. Fish tacos were large and really thick batter. Ok...just not great. Shrimp fajita plate...just... ok. Not a ton of flavor. Breakfast burrito should have been renamed potatoe burrito. Doubt it had an entire egg in it. My sonwouldn't even finish it. Place looked clean. I do find it a little silly for them to charge a dollar something for a 2 oz sideof sauce. For $50...just throw it in. Read more
By far the best taco shop homemade Mexican food in the city of Escondido. Outstanding fresh hot sauce and chef crafted menu.... Including a walk up window for easy ordering and pick up. I love the people who work there, they make the food with love. Pleasere open!!!!! Read more
I tried out this place today. I wasn?t disappointed as I saw a few reviews about the California burrito so that?s what I got.... And it is good. Also got an order of rolled tacos. Also good (still think Sayulitas are a little better). I asked for thespiciest salsa and well, that i got. Salsa is spicy just the way I prefer it. Also ordered a cup of champurrado (its average).Overall the carne asada alone has a decent taste compared to other tacos shops around Escondido so for the first time being herei give it 4 stars because the menu is so large so I will come back to explore a few other items on the menu. Updated: menudo,beef stew (caldo de res) are also very tasty. Bumped it up to 5 stars. Well deserved. Really like the carne asada nachos(without pico) and a lot of red salsa. Read more
1st time eating here [I'm from WA]: the achiote taco [pollo] con lettuce is huge I forgot how the big tacos here in Cali are &... with double tortillas. Not too bad! The tj style taco is okay. the salsas are spicyyy if you like that! I think everythingcould've used some Avocado on top or a chunky green salsa would've been nice. They have plenty on their menu to choose fromeveryone seems to like the burritos perhaps I should try next time. I also tried the rolled tacos they are SUPER crunchy & thecheese/guac is a must or else it wouldn't be anything to special. But rolled tacos are a thing here. They are not too pricey sothat's always a plus. Read more
Stopped in Saturday night for a California Burrito. It was excellent and the salsa were good. The staff was very nice and the... food was cooked promptly. It would be helpful to have known what the different types of salsas were but since they weren'tmarked I just grabbed one of each. Read more
First time here great food and service. I got the Tecate chicken quesadilla, my husband the carne asada fries with shrimp. Food... was fresh, hot, great taste. The cashier was very attentive to our needs. Will definitely return. Read more
