I really used to enjoy ordering takeout from Mimmo?s fairly often. The orders were always correct, fresh, and well prepared... overall. However, Mimmo?s has now lost my business as Simone will not allow a customer to order a small (or lunch size) portionof pasta at dinner time. The ?dinner size? portions are obscenely large, and I can?t even come close to finishing them. I?m notinterested in paying several dollars more for food that I may or may not finish at a later time. I understand it?s his businessand his rules, but it?s a shame that a rule like that is costing him multiple customers as I know I?m not the only one who feelsthis way. I hope Mimmo?s will reconsider this, and I will gladly return. Read more
Went here for the first time yesterday which was Saturday with my mom. (Essex location) Food was great portions were great!! The... only part we had an issue with was the girl with the long hair dragging her hair in the food of the salad bar vegetable barwhatever you want to call it. Im not a quite person and I made a comment to my mom about it and a few minutes later she came outwith her hair braided. Otherwise good place. We ordered online and when we went to pick up our order in Essex, the place was closed! We triple-checked the hours online and... it said they were open until 9pm. We got there at 8:45 and the lights were off and no one was there. We tried addressing itonline and over the phone (left a message the next day) and no one ever returned our email or call. Extremely disappointed, asthe Mimmo?s in St. Albans was always very customer-friendly. Great dinner for two. I love seeing my vegetarian girlfriends face when she finds out she is eating meat. Taking a bite to eat... of a chicken parm had never tasted more like a sausage red onion hero. At least they stand by their food by never checking thequality. Read more
We have had several underwhelming take out experiences from here... The food seems very noodle/carb heavy and light on sauce,... toppings, and flavor even when we pay extra for toppings. The online estimate is always wrong for when our food will be readybut luckily we live close. Even if we leave right after we get the text notification (which is a nice perk) the food is cold andlimp - our $10 calimari was so limp it didn't feel like it ever saw a deep frier. Nice variety on menu. But what is on the menu is not what you get on your plate. I like Bolognese when it is done right. ... Bolognese says it should have creamy, pink sauce. I don't see any creamy. I don't see any pink. It was very greasy, hardlycould be called even red sauce. I ordered it 3 times over the months, thinking maybe it was a new cook in training. 3 strikesis the end of it. Having read so many positive things about this place I decided to give it a go and also I was craving some good pizza. I was not... disappointed and got to eat a superbly tasting pizza in a nice atmosphere. The staff were welcoming and friendly and my serverin particularly was very helpful and friendly. I love Mimmo?s pizzas and subs so much. I?m not a fan of their pasta but whenever I order from here I always get pizza or a sub... and it?s extraordinary every time. My personal favorite is pineapple and bacon pizza or a Turkey bacon sub. Delicious. Read more
