Second time eating at that place and it's the second time having a great time. They really know how to treat customers. They... were super busy and we didn't have a reservation and had a group of 7. They still accommodated us with a wait. Took less than 15Min and we were seated. The appetizers came quick. The food too wasn't too far behind. Everything was right and tastedgreat. Amazing restaurant and bar in Estes Park. We called ahead for a reservation because we had a party of 12 and they were able to... accommodate us within 20 minutes. Very friendly and efficient staff. Food and service were excellent. 5 stars with feedback. Took about 8 minutes to get water to the table. Otherwise service was... great. Fish was just a tad dry. Fish and broccolini both super tasty. Food was good, especially the Elk medallions. It was a cold night and the restaurant was chilly, but no problem moving tables to... one that was warmer than the one by a window. We started out with the French onion soup, which was delicious and warmed us up.Service was great, friendly and attentive. The food outshone the interior decor which is why 4 out of 5 stars. Odd place. 4 star rating hinged on the food, which was great (jager schnitzel, especially; broccolini and trout, excellent);... other aspects were more inline with 3 stars. After looking closely at this place online, we were expecting something withambiance and hoping for a romantic dinner, but the venue wasn't really of that vein. Lighting was too bright for dinner andthere wasn't a comfortable or cozy looking table in sight. Incongruent with the food quality and price point. Food came quickly-- maybe too quickly -- and what could have been an "experience" ended up feeling a bit hollow. With a little interior remodel,this place could be chic. Read more
Overall, this place was good. When I go back to Estes, I might try somewhere else but I am happy I tried it. I ordered the... trout dip for an appetizer. It was creamy and smooth! Everyone tried it and liked it. I also ordered two Moscow mules on happyhour. The first one was much more bitter than the first, so there was an inconsistency in the drinks. Next I ordered a glutenfree bun with an Elk burger, the "make your own." It was really good! I just felt that there was too much juice from the onionsand it made the bottom of my burger completely soggy. That was off putting and I eventually stopped eating that one part.
