It was extremely clean. Well maintained. Friendly staff and great service. The food is always fresh, delicious and good buffet... selection. They change the menu items often. Even though it's buffet it almost felt like fine dining. None alcoholic drinks,teaor coffee came with the meal. Great ambiance for dining with monitors on each tables to view the races while dining if racing islive. Great view of the race track. Very different from the other restaurants there. Read more
I attended Favourites for the first time for a birthday dinner and we had a great experience. The hosts/staff were all great! We... immediately felt welcome with Kiannaha's awesome hospitality and exceptional customer service. Everyone's food arrived on timeand together. I ordered the prime rib and lobster special, which was well seasoned, texture of the prime rib was medium well (asordered) - nice and tender. Very filling! I will definitely return again. Decent food selection - there were 6 hot table items, roast pork shoulder, meatball and pasta, a variety of salads, cold meats,... and a very extensive dessert buffet selection. The food was pretty good. The breaded veal, turkey muffins and pot pies were myfavourite items. The roast pork shoulder was dry and not worth it - I should have known when I asked the guy cutting it and heavoided the question, asking me instead if I wanted some. The 'Nonna's meatball and pasta' was good, cooked over a pan. There isonly one soup choice. The dessert selection was pretty good, expecially the berry crumble. For $12.99 on Sunday evenings, itis well worth the price. Drinks are extra. I wouldn't bother paying normal price for this. Each TV has a mini TV that you canflip between several different channels (labouriously using the + / - arrows) - we were able to watch the Raptors game. Came on a Derby day. Buffet was more expensive and totally worth it! Crab legs, lobster on the half, cold large shrimps,... porchetta, swordfish, chicken, braised beef mushroom and pasta, fantastic salad bar, lots of unique spreads, chutneys, roastedgarlic, beets and so on and so on. Food quality and selection is terrible. Definitely not worth $38/person. Know that soft drinks and coffee are extra! Felt... totally ripped off. Buffet staff were like zombies. The betting experience, view and table wait staff were ok which is onlyreason I gave 2 stars instead of one. If you go, order off the menu as the selection is much better and less expensive. I had a great time here. The food was delicious! The betting is convenient and the drinks were great! Our waiter was kind,... friendly and hardworking. I love being able to see the track from my table. I'm going back again this weekend. Read more
Disappointing food selection for the price. I would expect prime rib rather than a tough sirloin cut. I would expect roast... chicken that would appeal to most people rather than Thai chicken. The salmon patties were dry.The salads were unusual......notnecessarily for everyone. Dessert selection was ample, but there were no signs to indicate ingredients. Service was excellent atthe table and the view over the racetrack is great. $40.00pp for a buffet that did not appeal to most at our table was out ofline. Read more
The buffet staff and head manager was extremely rude and unprofessional. 1. I had dirty cutlery and asked my server for new... ones. She gave me a confused look after i showed her there was stuck food on the fork. And asked why I wouldn't use them toeat. 2. We ordered french onion soup and asked for a bun. The server said there's bread in the soup rudely. 3. We asked thecooking staff when the muscles would be ready... with attitude the guy say "you have to wait!!!" With attitude. (In a buffet youshouldn't have to wait for the food to come out onto the hot plates) he was nothing but rude about a question. He said 5 min, wewaited but they were not ready in 5 minutes. 4. We went to go and pay and the server asked if we had any smaller chips to paywith, with a nasty look on her face. Like does it really matter??? 5. The head manager just fluffed off our complaints andpretty much pushed us out of the buffet. Gave us a free meal but it's like he didn't care what was going on. We were not lookingfor a free meal.
