We stayed at 3 different small inns in Eugene and I slept best at the Excelsior Inn. The bed and room (Puccini) were so... comfortable. We loved the landscaping. The art on the hallway walls, much of which was for sale, was a nice touch. The coffee atbreakfast was the best of our trip. Everything was impeccable. If you’re looking for European refinement, this is it. Read more

I will definitely visit again, and hopefully for longer. The staff is superb, boutique quality accomodations, location perfect... for walking to eateries or just strolling around campus. The Inn's interior is full of beautiful art (much of it for sale!) Andthe whole place is like stepping back in time or to another country, in all good ways. Btw, parking is off-site, just a blockaway - I added 3 photos of the parking garage. Read more

This is a Euro Lux experience and worth every dollar that it costs. It is amazing and privacy is paramount with the luxury of... seclusion amid a decor of natural wood, classic framed wall art, outstanding music programing and an exceptional breakfastoffering amid stained glass and a full espresso bar. There is outside seating for the discriminating outdoor naturalist. Goodfood, hand crafted coffee with music and a encouraging and comforting ambiance in the luxury of a no hassel andencouraging Business model makes for the authentic travel experience. Come to Eugene and experience the good life The OregonWay. Read more

Positive: Location Negative: Hand lotion in room was turning rancid. Bathroom exhaust fan was excessively loud. On-site dining... was removed after booking. Limited on-site parking. Primary entrance is from the alley in the rear of building. Read more

Unfortunately we just called and the person who answered said the restaurant is permanently closed as of today, Feb 13 due to... staffing issues (they were supposed to permanently close as of Feb 28). So sad to hear after their long tenure inEugene. I’ve generally had good experiences here over the years. The food was always really unique and flavorful. Read more

My parents had been nearby Ciao (same chef, sadly now closed) and raved about the food so I was very excited to go to dinner at... Excelsior with my wife and parents. I'm sorry to say, but most of the food was under seasoned and bland. I had the crab andsmoked mussel pasta, which had been sitting around for a while and was a bit congealed. It desparately needed acid, salt, anything! It just tasted like pasta and cream. The crab was shredded and I never saw or tasted a mussel. The fried onions on topwere nice but they were the tastiest part. At restaurants, my family normally talks about how good the food is, but insteadeveryone just ate the food and talked about other things. You get a good amount of food but for the price (mid to high $30s perentree) it wasn't worth it. The other amazing reviews makes me feel a little cheated; maybe the Sunday night chefs aren't beingheld to the same standard as Friday or Saturday? The food honestly reminded me of a restaurant that use to great but now thechefs are relying on this reputation instead of ensuring that they are still turning out balanced, hot food. Also, I thought itwas strange that of the entrees, all but one was seafood. Not bad or good; just an observation. The desserts, however, were acomplete 180 from the food. Everything is homemade and had good flavor. It was nice to see some twists on classics and seasonaloptions as well. After my experience, I'd go back for a dessert and coffee but am not in any rush to try the food again untilthe kitchen gets back on track. Read more

Tonight was the first time we’ve gone out for a nice meal since the pandemic. Wow, what a treat. Not only did we feel like the... restaurant took every precaution to keep their patrons as safe as possible, the food and service was amazing. I had anincredible halibut (the fish special), and my husband had a decadent seafood pasta dish. For dessert we shard the seasonal lemondome, which looked and tasted like a masterpiece. Our server was knowledgeable and attentive, and we never felt rushed. Ican’t wait to have another date night here. What a gem! Read more
