Went into Insomnia Cookies today to pick up a few cookies and some of the cream cheese icing they sell that I like and they... literally would not accept my money. They claimed that they "don't have a safe and have nowhere to put cash" which is absolutelyinsane. Its 2022. You have Google pay, Apple pay, all forms of card but I can't pay with cash? Not only is this ridiculous butits also completely 100% NOT LEGAL. Oregon Senate Bill 1565 which was passed this year in April clearly states: Senate Bill1565 makes unlawful practice for place of public accommodation to refuse to accept United States coins or currency as paymentfor goods and services. Look it up yourself. Please obey the law and get a cash register and a proper form of storing it. Ithink you can afford it. Until then close your doors as you're breaking the law and have absolutely no right to refuse serviceand 100% legal US tender. If I could give less than 1 star I would. Never going here again. Insomnia cookies is an absolutely tasty, open late, cookie shop with excellent handcrafted cookies and ice cream. You can get... singles or dozens, they even have specialty cookies which are superb. The staff here was knowledgeable and happy to help.Definitely a must have if you are in Eugene! Parking is iffy, their is really only street parking, but it's totally worth it! Read more
