This Costa Vida has been on a steady decline in quality since it opened. Today, the tortillas were thin, the limeade was watered... down, and the churros were crunchy from the heat lamp. I've always wondered if there are lids for the food when business isslow. There was a visible crust on the beans. I still enjoy Costa Vida's food more than most fast food, but there's definitelyroom for improvement at this location. Read more

This is a HORRIBLE Costa vida. I ordered a kids enchilada. And it had a few pieces of cheese throughout it. Then when I ordered... my burrito... I got 1/3 scoop rice 1/3 scoop beans and 2 chunks of sweet pork. I said oh could I get some more rice andbeans....the worker literally looked around to see if anyone was watching... And places 5 more beans on my burrito. Then said"shhhh they yelled at me last time I put more. ... " It was so awkward. Will not be back. And I don't even think that's theworkers fault ... Management shouldn't be yelling at staff to make them so nervous to dish up a customer. Read more

We've been to Costa Vida several times in Evanston. The food is flavorful, and hot. The preparers do a nice job of walking you... through your options. My daughter has a nice vegetarian option that she enjoyed. Plenty of parking and handicap accessible. 5/5stars Read more

The board with prices is misleading. It seems like meat prices are part of the costs listed for meals. (How often do folks buy a... meal from Costa Vida without meat?) But they aren't. Also, the meals I at least bought weren't sizable and the rice at least inmine was physically hard because it was stale. Read more

Worst customer experience I have ever had. Waited at the front of the line for 20 min before someone would help us and they took... absolutely forever. I?m normally pretty loyal to Costa Vida but now I?m considering just switching completely to just Cafe Rio. Read more

It?s really sad to see how far this place has gone downhill. It started out being managed very well and then something changed... the last couple years. We go to this restaurant quite often so we?ve seen the contrast in how it has operated during itslifetime and how it?s progressively gotten worse. Our most recent visit was a frustrating experience to say the least. Here?sa list of all the issues that just shouldn?t be happening: - No garbage cans outside. Instead just bags of garbage sitting onthe side of the building. - Floors were completely filthy with food strung all over. - Tables and chairs not wiped downincluding high chairs. - Inside garbage cans overflowing. - Windows covered in greasy hand prints. - Ice had filled up the draintray on the fountain machine and left there. - One side of the ice receptacle wasn?t working. - Drink coolers were all empty(limonada, horchata, etc.) - No utensils, sauces, napkins, lids, etc for customers to grab after ordering. Everything had to berequested at the check-out register. This caused a huge back up in the line and a crowd of people around the register becauseeveryone had to go to one source for ordering, getting utensils, having orders fixed, etc. It may be an issue with findingemployees like everyone else is struggling with so I don?t want to be too harsh but if your a manager you have to pick up theslack during these bad economic times. I operate a few different businesses and I can confidently say that these issues are aresult of poor management. Small problems turn into bigger, ongoing issues when a system isn?t being properly managed bysomeone. Hopefully they get things figured out but in the meantime we will not be so eager to stop in like we used to in thepast. Read more

I have never had such a good experience at a fast casual restaurant. The staff was nice and friendly, they didn?t rush us... through the line and got our order done perfectly. Food was amazing. I?ll be back, you can tell this location is ran well andthe manager is amazing. Read more

Very unreceptive customer service. I ordered two enchilada meals at the drive through. The line moved fast enough which was... great , however when I got home and began to eat my dinner I got a lovely mouth full of severely undercooked rice . I called therestaurant to inform them that their rice was inedible and was met with a very typical and all too predictable indignantresponse from the "manager" sky. She told me I must have gotten the bottom of the pan ! Well okay that's great so I justbasically drew the short straw lol and could come back for more if I'd like to. Well that's great , so you know that the rice inthe bottom of the pan is hard and still serve it to people rather than getting rid of it ? Very well I guess . To sum it up Ijust paid 19 dollars and some change for four small enchiladas , my dogs enjoyed the absolutely disgusting rice and beans whileI choked down two enchiladas with dry grilled chicken , great job over there with the quality control . To whomever does thehiring at this establishment please , please hire someone with some maturity and some sense of customer service. I simply calledto inform them they are serving undercooked hard rice to people and was basically ignored and told to come get more. Well nothank you , the food is absolutely garbage and I will never come back for more overpriced and undercooked food. Read more
