THE definition of authentic Mexican food in the states. This restaurant serves the most wonderfully simple but flavorful food... I've had in a very long time. Truly a mom and pop operation so the anesthetics are somewhat lacking, but don't let that deteryou from trying this place out. You won't be disappointed! Best customer experience. Variety of Mexican dishes unlike others. So much explore. They are so sweet and caring. Food is out of... the world. Omg!!! Tasted heavenly. Best Mexican food we have had. We stopped here on our drive back to Canada and we found this place due to their wonderful reviews! From the moment we walked... in, the service was so friendly! And the food was super delicious and the portions were massive we had to take the rest to gowhile crossing the border! We would definitely return! I tried: Enchiladas Verde - delicious and generous portions Hand made taco al pastor - very juicy and bursting with flavor. Hand... made tortilla is a nice touch. Pollo loco empanada - not bad, but definitely the least flavorful thing I tried. Becerra empanada- flavorful, fresh, tender meat, delicious. Overall I really liked it. The chips were good and served warm. I liked the salsa alot, others might not like the thin consistency, but the flavor is good and traditional Mexican salsa is often thin like that,so it's what I'm used to having grown up in a part-mexican family. The green salsa was especially good. I will definitely begoing back for the pastor, and I can't wait to try more things on the menu as well. Read more
Excellent food, very well prepared and unique take on the usual. I ordered the chicken fajitas that were spiced perfectly with... homemade salsa and guacamole. Wrapped in super soft tortillas were the best I've had in years. Also ordered the al pastorburrito which is large enough to be two meals by itself. Excellent pork seasoning. Top it all off with well made rice andrefried beans. I had three meals out all this and will be coming back for more soon. Well done El Jacalito! Read more
